4 Strawberries, cut in half

Nothing says spring like strawberries and wine spritzers. The tarragon and black pepper in this refreshing cocktail complement the strawberry flavor and really make it taste special! Number Of Ingredients 8

1-3/4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
4 to 5 tarragon sprigs
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon whole peppercorns
3 cups sweet white wine, such as Riesling, chilled
3 cups club soda, chilled

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, bring the first 6 ingredients to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat. Cool completely. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a small bowl (do not press berries). Refrigerate syrup until chilled. To serve, for each serving fill a tall glass with ice. Add 1/2 cup wine, 1/2 cup club soda and 1/4 cup strawberry syrup. If desired, garnish with additional tarragon.
