FRESH STRAWBERRY MARGARITAS ON THE ROCKS



Fresh Strawberry Margaritas on the Rocks image

These Strawberry Margaritas on the rocks are made from ripe strawberries for a light and refreshing taste. The fresh strawberries make this recipe quite different than a typical strawberry margarita that comes from a frozen machine. Not too sweet and full of flavor.

1.5 cups fresh strawberries
4.5 ounces of tequila (3 shots using a standard size shot glass)
1.5 ounces Grand Marnier (1 shot)
1.5 ounces Simple Syrup (1 shot, you can buy pre-made for cocktails or make your own)
1.5 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice (1 shot)
Coarse cocktail salt for rim (or sugar if you prefer)
Lime wedge and/or strawberry for garnish

Steps:

  • Wash strawberries and remove green steems.
  • Combine strawberries, tequila, Grand Marnier, simple syrup and lime juice together in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Rub a slice of lime around the rim of your glasses and dip into cocktail salt. If you prefer a sugar rim, use simple syrup to wet the rim of the glass and then dip in sugar.
  • Fill your glasses with ice and pour in the strawberry margarita mix.
  • Garnish with a fresh lime slice and /or strawberry.

2 cups crushed ice
1/2 cup strawberry puree (frozen can or fresh strawberries, pureed)
1 cup tequila
2 limes, juiced
Splash Triple Sec
Splash simple syrup (equal amounts sugar and water heated until sugar dissolves, then cooled)

Steps:

  • Combine in a blender, ice, strawberry water, tequila, lime juice, Triple Sec and simple syrup. Puree until smooth. Pour into rocks glasses and serve.
