BAKED STRAWBERRY DONUTS RECIPE - (4/5)

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease a 6-doughnut pan with baking spray. To make doughnuts combine dry ingredients in a large bowl and whisk together. Create a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add in milk, egg, butter, and maple syrup. Stir until well combined. Stir in strawberry mixture, starting with 1/2 of it and adding more only if needed. Batter should be wet, but not runny. Put dough into a pastry bag or plastic bag and snip approximately 1-inch off end. Pipe batter into each well, reserving extra batter. Bake for 7-9 minutes until doughnuts spring back when touched. Let cool five minutes and turn onto a cooling rack to cool completely. While doughnuts are cooling make glaze. To make glaze, stir all ingredients together until smooth. When doughnuts are cooled dip each into glaze (twice if you want to be naughty about it) and place back on cooling rack to let glaze set. When glaze has set enjoy!

Steps:
- Preheat your mini donut maker or your oven to 350°F, and spray donut maker or pan with cooking spray. Add all donut ingredients to a large mixing bowl and beat with hand mixer until you attain a uniform mixture, about 60 seconds. Pour donut batter into a Ziploc bag, then snip off the end and use it to pipe donut batter into pan/donut maker. Bake in donut maker or your oven for 3-4 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean. Let cool on wire rack while you make the glaze. GLAZE: Whisk together sugar and cream until thick glaze forms. Add a little more heavy cream if mixture is too thick, or a little more powdered sugar if too thin. Dip half of donut into frosting, then cover with sprinkles and let sit until dry.

Steps:
- Begin heating 3-4 cups canola oil on the stovetop over medium low heat. I like frying donuts in my cast iron skillet since it retains heat so well.
- Mix the butter and sugar together. Add in eggs, one at a time, mixing in between additions. Add in milk and vanilla and mix to combine.
- Add in dry ingredients and mix until well incorporated. Let dough rest for 10 minutes.
- Flour countertop liberally. Transfer dough onto flour and sprinkle top with additional flour. Knead for 2-3 minutes, adding flour in small amounts until dough is easier to handle and less sticky. (The dough will still be somewhat sticky, but manageable. One of the tricks to delicate, soft donuts is not over mixing/ over kneading and not adding in too much flour. Between sprinkling the countertop and the flour on the dough, you'll likely use an additional 1/4 cup of flour.)
- Roll dough out just a few times until it's about 1/2" thick. Use 2 different biscuit cutters to cut round donut shapes and set uncooked donuts and donut holes aside. (I made large round donuts using the smallest circle cutter and the 3rd largest, then made mini donuts by cutting a larger middle hole into the donuts I just cut.)
- Once oil reaches 325-330 degrees F, begin frying 3-4 donuts at a time. Let cook 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip donuts and cook an additional 2-3 minutes. Donut holes will cook much faster, usually 3 minutes total.
- Transfer cooked donuts to a plate lined with paper towels. Cool slightly.
- Whisk strawberry glaze ingredients together. Dip semi-cooled donuts in, making sure to coat well. Donuts taste best when eaten immediately, while still warm and dripping with gooey glaze! Store leftovers in an airtight container. Leftover donuts will soften, but they'll still be delicious.
BAKED DONUT RECIPE
An irresistible recipe with a very similar flavor to fried cake donuts but without all the extra mess and deep frying hassle! They are perfectly tender and sweet and always temptingly delicious!

- In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cake mix (just the dry mix, no other ingredients listed on the box) with one of the mix-in options until well combined. Transfer the batter to a gallon-size resealable baggie and seal shut. Cut a small piece off one corner off the bottom of the baggie and fill each donut ring almost completely full with batter. (Should make 12 donuts)
- Bake for 7-8 minutes or until donuts are set and spring back up when touched. Let donuts cool in pan for at least 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack set over a baking sheet to collect glaze drippings. Repeat process with remaining batter if you don’t have two donut pans.
- Heat frosting in a microwave safe bowl for 10-15 seconds until of drizzling consistency. Dip one donut at a time into the frosting glaze and place upright back on the wire rack. If sprinkling with sprinkles, do so immediately after glazing each donut. Repeat with remaining donuts. Allow glaze to set for 5-10 minutes. Enjoy!

- In another bowl, whisk to combine the oil, milk, egg, vinegar, and vanilla extract. Add this liquid to the dry ingredients and whisk until the two are *just* combined. It’s okay if the batter is lumpy, as you don’t want to overstir and make the donuts tough.
- Evenly divide the batter into the six donut wells, which is about 2.5 tbsp per well. Bake for 13 minutes until a toothpick inserted into one of the donuts comes out cleanly (or rather, without any wetness).

- Preheat oven to 350˚F. Grease doughnut pan well (I use spray oil with flour in it i.e. Baking by Pam).
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, strawberry jello powder, salt, and nutmeg together in a medium mixing bowl. (You can leave the nutmeg out but it gives the characteristic donut flavor.)
- Whisk yogurt, strawberries, egg, oil, and flavorings together in a separate small bowl. Pour all at once over dry ingredients and stir only until everything is moistened.
- Spoon batter into a pastry bag or quart-size zippered plastic bag. Seal. Snip a small corner of the plastic bag and force dough out of the hole in a fat rope that encircles each doughnut cup. Fill only 1/2 to 3/4 full or you will lose the hole in the middle of your doughnut. Makes 12 donuts and possibly 3-4 "donut holes" in a mini cupcake pan. Bake for 9-10 minutes.

- Preheat oven to 350 and grease a donut baking pan. In a large bowl whisk together cake mix, egg, water, and vegetable oil until smooth. Transfer mixture to a large resealable bag.
- Push the batter into one corner and twist the top of the bag to keep the batter inside. Snip the corner of the bag and squeeze the batter into the baking pan filling each donut cavern 2/3 full.
- Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges barely start to brown. Remove from oven and allow to cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes until they easily come out of the pan ( if they are sticking, leave them to cool for a few more minutes before trying again).
- Allow donuts to cool completely before glazing them. To prepare the glaze whisk together powdered sugar, cream cheese, and lemon juice until smooth. Dip donuts into the glaze, then allow to cool for a few minutes so the glaze will set. (If your icing is too thick, warm it up in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or so. Repeat throughout as needed until all donuts are dipped)
