1 unbaked pie crust
½ cup cold butter, cut into small pieces
¼ cup packed brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
¼ cup apple juice
3 ripe bananas, sliced
¼ cup honey
1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
½ cup white sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Press the prepared pie crust into a 9 inch pie pan and set aside.
  • Combine the butter, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and nuts in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse the mixture until it has the texture of oatmeal. Refrigerate this crumble topping until ready to use.
  • Pour the apple juice into a medium sauce pan over medium-low heat; add the sliced bananas and honey and stir until the honey melts. Mix in the chopped strawberries and white sugar. Simmer uncovered for 20 minutes. Pour the warm fruit mixture into the prepared pie crust; evenly distribute the cold crumble topping across the top of the pie.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and set, about 20 minutes. Cool the pie on a wire rack for 30 minutes before serving.

1 package (.3 ounce) sugar-free strawberry gelatin
1 cup boiling water
6 ice cubes
2 medium ripe bananas, cut into chunks
4 tablespoons whipped topping
4 fresh strawberries

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water; cool for 10 minutes. Add enough water to ice cubes to measure 1 cup. In a blender, combine gelatin and ice mixture; cover and process for 1 minute or until ice cubes are dissolved. Add bananas; process 1-2 minutes longer or until blended. , Pour into four dessert dishes. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or until set. Garnish each with 1 tablespoon whipped topping and a strawberry.

1 cup sliced fresh strawberries or 1 10-ounce package frozen sliced strawberries, thawed and drained
1 cup whipping cream
1 recipe Meringue Shell

Steps:

  • Pour this mixture into a meringue shell. Chill the shell overnight. Top with additional whipped cream and berries, if desired. In order to save time but still have an elegant dessert, the angel pie filling can be made from a pudding mix, pudding and pie filling mix, canned fruit, or frozen fruit. Top with frozen whipped dessert topping and fruit garnish. Meringue Shell Ingredients: 3 egg whites 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar Dash salt 1 cup sugar Have egg whites at room temperature. Add vanilla, cream of tartar, and salt. Beat this egg mixture until soft, fluffy peaks form. Gradually add sugar, beating until very stiff peaks form and sugar is dissolved. Cover baking sheet with plain ungreased brown paper. Using a 9-inch round cake pan for your pattern, draw a circle on paper. Spread meringue over drawn circle. Shape into shell with back of large spoon, making bottom 1/2 inch thick and sides about 1 3/4 inches high. Bake in the oven at 275 degrees for 1 hour. Turn off heat and let dry in oven (door closed) at least 2 hours. Makes one 9-inch meringue shell.

1/4 cup ground pecans
1/3 cup butter, melted

2 large firm bananas, cut into 1/4-inch slices
2 cups strawberry ice cream, softened
1 pint fresh strawberries
1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the crushed ice cream cones, pecans and butter. Press onto the bottom and up the sides of a greased 10-in. pie plate. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes., In another large bowl, combine vanilla ice cream and mashed bananas. 1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 egg yolks
2 cups milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 pint strawberry, sliced
1 9 in.baked pastry shell
1 large bananas or 2 small bananas, peeled and sliced
whipped cream, optional

Steps:

  • In medium saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt.
  • Blend together egg yolks and milk.
  • Stir small amount of milk mixture into dry ingredients, making a smooth paste.
  • Gradually blend in remaining milk mixture.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
  • Allow to boil for one minute.
  • Remove from heat and stir in Vanilla.
  • Cool quickly by setting pan in bowl of ice or cold water and stirring for a few minutes.
  • Arrange Strawberries in the bottom of the pie shell, reserving about 1/4 of them for garnish.
  • Pour half of the custard over berries.
  • Layer bananas over custard layer and top with remaining custard.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.
  • Garnish with reserved berries and whipped cream.

I found this recipe on The Daily Recipe. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping. I plan to use sugar free pudding, a homemade angel food cake, and sugar free Cool Whip.

Steps:

  • Prepare pudding with milk according to package directions.
  • In a glass serving dish (or trifle bowl) layer half the cake pieces, half the pudding, half the bananas, half the strawberries and half the whipped topping. Repeat layers.
  • Cover and chill in refrigerator 4 hours before serving.

3 egg whites
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sugar (or 1 cup splenda)
1 dash salt
3 ounces sugar-free strawberry gelatin
1 cup sliced strawberry, fresh or frozen thawed
1 1/4 cups boiling water
1 banana, sliced
1 cup whipping cream or 2 cups fat-free whipped topping

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
  • Meringue Shell; Have egg whites at room temperature.
  • Add vanilla, cream of tarter and salt, and beat until frothy.
  • Gradually add sugar and beat until sugar is dissolved and stiff peaks from.
  • Spoon into lightly greased, 9-inch pie dish, and shape into shell, swirling sides high.
  • Bake for 1 hour, turn off heat and let dry in oven with door closed for at least 2 hours.
  • Filling; Disslove gelatin in boiling water and chill until it has the consistency of unbeaten egg whites.
  • Fold in strawberries, bananas and whipped cream.
  • Chill until mixture mounds slightly when spooned.
  • Spoon into meringue shell.
  • Chill 4 to 6 hours.
  • Garnish with additional whipped cream and strawberries if desired.
