Weight Watcher Quick & Easy Salisbury Steak image

Taken from the Weight Watcher's Quick & Easy series, this recipe truly is and it's delicious! This is the only recipe that I enjoy mushrooms in and the kids love it too.

1 lb extra lean ground beef
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
1/4 cup onion, minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme
2 tablespoons dry sherry or 2 tablespoons white wine
1 (12 ounce) jar fat-free beef gravy

Steps:

  • Combine ground beef, garlic powder, salt and pepper, and mix well. Shape into 4 half-inch thick patties.
  • Coat a large non-stick skillet with cooking spray, place over medium heat until hot. Add patties, cook 4 min per side or until they reach desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • Increase heat to medium-high, add mushrooms, onion and thyme to skillet, saute 3 minutes. Add sherry, saute 1 minute. Stir in gravy, return patties to skillet. Cook 2 minutes or until heated through.
  • Serve on garlic mashed potatoes with a steamed veggie.

This is a great way to get the meat and potatoes in to a meal in a healthy, hearty fashion. If you are on core for weight watchers, the point value will only be 1. They taste great and are packed with so much flavor.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 (6 ounce) package sandwich steaks
1/2 cup white onion
1/2 cup red pepper
1/2 cup lettuce
2 whole wheat sandwich wraps (look for 110 calories or lower and 5 gr fiber)
2 baking potatoes
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce

Steps:

  • Heat up the skillet with olive oil and when ready, put in onion and peppers until cooked (2-3 minutes on high) then take them out and put them to the side. Next, put the sandwich steaks in skillet, previously marinading the steaks with a splash or two on each side with soy sauce. When in skillet, brown for three to four minutes on each side medium to high temperature. Cut up the potatoes and put them in microwave for 5 to 6 minutes. When steak is done, take out and cut into small pieces, do the same to the potatoes. Put back potatoes, pepper and onion into skillet for a minute with a splash of olive oil. Place wraps on plate, put lettuce, steak, then onions, pepper and potatoes inches Close wrap and enjoy!
