CHEESESTEAK SLIDERS

Cheesesteak Sliders image

My Cheesesteak Sliders have thin beef paired with cooked peppers, onions and mushrooms. The whole sandwich party is topped with Provolone cheese and baked inside a slider bun.

Provided by Deanne Frieders

Categories     Main Dish Recipes

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 pound sliced roast beef
12 slider buns
2 Tbsp mayonnaise
2 bell peppers, seeded and sliced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 small onion, sliced
2 tsp olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup beef broth
2 tsp minced garlic
8 slices provolone cheese

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, heat beef broth and garlic over medium heat. Add roast beef and allow to simmer 5 minutes before removing from heat.
  • Cook peppers, onions and mushrooms: Heat a medium sized skillet over medium high heat. Add olive oil, peppers, onions and mushrooms. Allow to cook over medium high heat, stirring occasionally until peppers and onions are softened. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Slice rolls in half horizontally and add the bottom half to a 9x9 casserole dish. (I find it easiest to keep the slider rolls joined together.) Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of the rolls. Using tongs, remove the roast beef from the broth and add to the slider rolls. Top with the cooked vegetables and then slices of cheese. Top with the top half of the slider rolls.
  • Cook at 350 for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted. If tops begin to brown more than you'd like, cover loosely with foil. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

2 ounces blue cheese crumbles

BLUE CHEESE & BALSAMIC STEAK SLIDERS

Blue Cheese & Balsamic Steak Sliders image

Provided by Mary

Yield 8 sliders

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 ounces crumbled blue cheese
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 pound skirt steak or sirloin tip steak, trimmed of excess fat and cut into 4 manageable sized pieces
2 tablespoons vegetable, canola, or olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
Additional salt & pepper, to taste
8 crusty dinner rolls (preferably French or ciabatta)
2 tablespoons thick balsamic vinegar or balsamic glacé (such as Colavita)
2 cups mixed salad greens

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine the blue cheese and the mayonnaise. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Place the steak in the freezer for 15 minutes. While the steak is freezing, preheat one tablespoon of the oil over medium-high heat in a 10-inch skillet and add the onion, salt, and sugar. Cook, stirring frequently and reducing the temperature to medium-low to prevent burning, until caramelized, 15-20 minutes.
  • After the steak has been in the freezer for 15 minutes, cut the steak into very thin strips with the grain. Pile the steak on the cutting board and cut through it 20-30 times until chopped into very small pieces.
  • Warm the rolls according to package directions.
  • When the onions have finished cooking, remove them to a bowl and set aside. Wipe out the skillet and heat the remaining tablespoon of oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook until browned and cooked through. Drain the steak in a colander and add the steak and the onions back to the skillet and cook until a crust forms on the steak. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Split the warmed rolls and spread the top and the bottom of the roll with the blue cheese mayonnaise (about a tablespoon per roll). Divide the steak and onions among the rolls then drizzle with balsamic vinegar. Top with the mixed greens and the rolls tops and serve immediately.

BOURBON BLUE CHEESE STEAK SLIDERS

Bourbon Blue Cheese Steak Sliders image

Provided by Kim

Time 21m

Number Of Ingredients 14

2 lb chuck roast
1 small yellow onion, (sliced thinly)
4 garlic cloves (minced)
1 cup bourbon
3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 cups beef broth
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
water
1 batch bourbon blue cheese sauce ((see link to recipe in notes))
pickles, pepperoncini, blue cheese crumbles, bacon (for toppings)
10 slider buns ((see note))

Steps:

  • Put the beef, onion, bourbon, garlic, Worcestershire, soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, salt, and pepper in a crock pot.
  • Add water until the meat is fully submerged. Cook on low for at least 6 hours.
  • When ready, remove the beef and place in a large bowl. Place the onions in a small bowl (to use as a topping later).
  • Reserve some of the juice the beef cooked in for dipping.
  • Shred the beef and remove fat pieces as desired. You will have approximately 3 1/2 cups of meat when done.
  • Toast buns if desired. Place approximately 1/3 cup of meat on each bun (see note, this will vary with the exact size of bun you use).
  • Pour approximately 1-2 Tablespoons of the blue cheese sauce over the meat on each slider.
  • Add a few slices of the onion from the crock pot on top of the blue cheese sauce.
  • Top each slider with your desired toppings. I love pickles, but pepperoncinis, additional blue cheese crumbles, and bacon are all great options. Serve warm.

1 clove garlic (minced)
1/2 cup parsley (chopped)
8 slider rolls (cut through the middle into tops and bottoms)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
1 small green pepper (chopped)
1 pound ribeye steak
2 cups provolone cheese (shredded)

  • In a small saucepan melt butter. Add garlic and parsley. Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter mixture and set aside.
  • Heat the olive oil in a non-stick frying pan. Add the mushrooms and green peppers and sauté until golden. Place in a medium-sized bowl and set aside.
  • Add the beef to the pan and sear until browned on the edges and cooked through. Place into the same bowl as the peppers and mushrooms and toss well.
  • Place bottom half of rolls on a baking sheet. Using a spoon or tongs, divide the beef mixture between all the roll bottoms. Top generously with cheese and place under the broiler for 4-5 minutes to melt the cheese. (Keep an eye on them!) Place the tops on the rolls and serve warm.

PHILLY CHEESE STEAK SLIDERS

Philly Cheese Steak Sliders image

The mouthwatering taste of a Philly Cheesesteak on a slider bun. Easy to make & great for parties, picnics, or a quick family dinner. You can prepare the beef and the onion-mushroom mixture ahead of time and assemble just before serving if you like. The real Philadelphia Cheesesteaks come "wid wiz" (cheese whiz), so if you want to be really authentic you can substitute that for the american cheese.

COREY'S STEAK, CHEESE, AND MUSHROOM SUBS

Corey's Steak, Cheese, and Mushroom Subs image

At lease once a week my family enjoys these subs. Shaved steak, sharp American cheese, fresh mushrooms on soft toasted scala sub rolls, and I serve them with steak fries with chicken gravy and bread n' butter pickles...and an ice cold beer for the adults. Add ketchup or any veggies like green leafy lettuce, fresh tomatoes, mayo, or blue cheese dressing. We like ours with a squirt of ketchup on the side for dipping. Enjoy!
