I search high and low for a recipe that would be as close to Starbucks wonderful gingerloaf and this is what I came up with . I read many other recipes and a lot were missing the basics from the ingredient list this is the closet to theirs that I have came up with I hope you all enjoy �� first time submitter long time follower

Number Of Ingredients 19

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
2 teaspoons ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons nutmeg
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2-3/4 cup candied ginger (homemade)
1 teaspoon orange extract (or juice )
1/2 teaspoon both lemon and vanilla extract
1 cup apple butter
4 ounces cream cheese
2 cups icing sugar
1/4 teaspoon lemon extract
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
1 teaspoon orange juice

Steps:

  • Start with butter and sugar then add the egg Beat Ingredients in a stand mixer mix until light and fluffy then add remaining wet ingredients. Mix dry ingredients together and whisk then add dry ingredients to wet ingredients in until just combined , don't over mix it will cause tough bread ❤️Batter will be really thick don't worry :) bake at350 for 50-60 mins and let cool completely before frosting.
  • Enjoy.

Enjoy this old-fashioned ginger loaf recipe originally from Holland. This moist spicy bread smells delicious while it's baking...and slices are wonderful spread with cream cheese. Number Of Ingredients 12

4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1-1/4 teaspoons ground cloves
1-1/4 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 eggs
2 cups milk
1 cup maple syrup
2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first eight ingredients. In another bowl, combine the eggs, milk, syrup and oil. Stir into the dry ingredients just until moistened (batter will be thin). Pour into two greased 9x5-in. loaf pans. , Bake at 325° for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.

For those of you who may not like the very spicy, dark version so often served during the holidays, this loaf is lighter and very moist. A hint of orange is a wonderful addition, and the cream cheese icing is a perfect compliment. (Originally published by Veronica Hill.)

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup white sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons ginger
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon orange extract (optional)
1 cup applesauce
8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1/2 teaspoon orange extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F Grease and flour a 9-inch loaf pan, or even a square baking pan.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves and salt; set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Dissolve baking soda into applesauce and mix into creamed butter. Add flour mixture. Mix until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a loaf pan.
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out just slightly sticky. (Be careful not to over bake, for this cake can dry out easily. Just remember that the toothpick shouldn't come out clean, but a little sticky).
  • For the frosting, beat the cream cheese until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla. Gradually beat in the powdered sugar. Frost the cake when it is completely cooled. Decorate with chopped candied orange peel or candied ginger.
  • *Note: This recipe tastes best the next day.

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan. Dust it with flour or line with parchment paper. In a large mixing bowl, whisk 2 eggs and ⅓ cup brown sugar until frothy. Add ⅓ cup cooking oil, 1 ½ Tbsp. maple syrup, and 1 cup applesauce. Stir well.Mix plain 1 ½ cups flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 ½ tsp. cinnamon, 1 ½ tsp. ground ginger, 1 tsp. ground cloves, 1 tsp. ground nutmeg, and a pinch of salt, then sift into the bowl with the wet ingredients. Quickly mix with your whisk until fully combined.Pour the gingerbread batter into the loaf pan and bake for 35 to 45 minutes. The tip of a knife or toothpick should come out clean when it’s ready.
  • Allow 8 oz. cream cheese to come to room temperature first by letting it sit out for at least 30 minutes before making the icing. When ready, beat the cream cheese until smooth, using a mixer or whisk. Add 1 tsp. vanilla extract and stir well.Slowly whisk in ⅓ cup icing sugar until combined. Add orange zest from half an orange and fold the frosting together.Once the bread cools completely, spread the cream cheese frosting over top.
  • Add ¼ cup brown sugar and ¼ cup water to a small pan on low heat. Once the sugar dissolves, add ½ cup pecans (chopped or whole).Leave to caramelize for 2 minutes or until all the liquid evaporates. Stir occasionally to evenly coat the pecans.Transfer to a plate and allow to cool before adding over the frosting on your gingerbread loaf.
