Sprinkles Ice Cream Recipes
HOMEMADE SPRINKLES
These sprinkles are just lines of royal icing! Let them dry completely before you break them up.

Steps:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Fit a piping bag (or several, if making different colors) with a small round tip.
- In a small bowl, whisk the confectioners' sugar, egg white and salt. The consistency should be slightly thicker than glue. Stir in a bit of water if it is too thick or more confectioners' sugar if it is too thin.
- Tint the mixture with food coloring (or divide among bowls and tint each a different color). Transfer to the piping bag and pipe lines onto the prepared baking sheet. Let dry at room temperature until completely set, at least 4 hours or overnight.
- Scrape the lines off the paper and break into sprinkles.
SPRINKLES ICE CREAM RECIPE
Most sprinkles ice creams just add colored sprinkles to a plain, unflavored sweet cream base. That's pretty boring. This recipe uses candy-colored, delightfully artificially flavored cereal (Fruity Pebbles, specifically, but Trix and Froot Loops would work well) to make something that's far more fun and deserving of the sprinkles that go into it.

- Quickly pour dairy into saucepan with egg yolks and sugar, whisking rapidly to completely combine. Place pot over medium-low heat and cook, whisking frequently, until a custard forms on a spoon and a finger swiped across the back leaves a clean line, or until custard temperature reaches 170°F. Stir in salt to taste.
- Strain custard through a fine mesh strainer and either chill in ice bath or in refrigerator until it is very cold, about 40°F. Churn in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions, adding in sprinkles during last minute of churn, then transfer to an airtight container and chill in freezer for at least 4 hours.

CHOCOLATE SPRINKLES ICE CREAM SANDWICHES RECIPE BY TASTY
Here's what you need: vanilla ice cream, chocolate cookies, rainbow sprinkles

Steps:
- Using a serrated knife, cut the pint of ice cream crosswise into 3 equal discs.
- Lay out 3 chocolate cookies and place a pint slice on top of each. Place another chocolate cookie on top of each sandwich. Remove the ice cream packaging.
- Freeze for 30 minutes.
- Pour the sprinkles into a shallow dish.
- Remove the ice cream sandwiches from the freezer and roll the sides in the sprinkles, completely covering the ice cream.
- Freeze for 30 minutes more before serving.
- Enjoy!
