SPICY LEMON GARLIC SHRIMP

2 pounds raw frozen shrimp, deveined, shells on
2 sticks cold butter, cut into pieces
1/4 cup fresh parsley leaves
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
4 cloves garlic, peeled
1 whole lemon, juiced
Crusty bread, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Rinse the shrimp to separate, and then arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • To the bowl of a food processor, add the butter, parsley, salt, red pepper, garlic and lemon juice. Pulse until combined. Sprinkle the cold butter crumbles over the shrimp.
  • Bake until the shrimp is opaque and the butter is hot and bubbly.
  • Serve with hot crusty bread. Peel and eat the shrimp, and then encourage guests to dip the bread into the butter in the bottom of the pan.

1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
16 large shrimp - peeled, deveined, and tails on, or more to taste
3 large cloves garlic, smashed, or more to taste
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste
2 teaspoons seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®), or to taste
salt and ground black pepper to taste
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3 teaspoons lemon zest

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat until warm, 2 to 3 minutes. Add shrimp, garlic, and pepper flakes all at once and stir together. Add seafood seasoning, salt, and black pepper and mix until combined.
  • Cook and stir until shrimp are bright pink on the outside and the meat is opaque, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to low and stir in parsley, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

These spicy and savoury shrimp are wonderful served with a salad, angel hair pasta or plain white rice. I'm not really sure of the times...but it is a quick recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 onion, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper flakes or 1/2 a red chili pepper, finely chopped
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 plum tomato, seeded, finely chopped
2 tablespoons dry white wine
20 medium-large shrimp
salt & pepper
1 splash lemon juice
3 basil leaves, chiffonade (strips,sliced thinly)
lemon slice (to garnish)

Steps:

  • 1. In a sauté pan over medium/high heat, combine the butter and olive oil. When the butter is melted, add the hot pepper flakes (or chili pepper) and onion. Sauté for 2 minutes or until the onions are softened.
  • 2. Add the lemon zest, tomatoes, garlic and white wine. Sauté for another 2 minutes.
  • 3. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper to taste. Add a splash of lemon juice. Cook for 1 minute more.
  • 4. Transfer to warm plate and serve the shrimp topped with the basil chiffonade and lemon slices.

1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 lbs raw shrimp, deveined and shells on
French bread, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • Add the butter and garlic to food processor.
  • Throw in the parsley, lemon juice, salt, and red pepper flakes.
  • Pulse the mixture several times until everything is pulverized and mixed together.
  • Arrange the shrimp on a single layer on a large baking sheet.
  • Dot the top of the shrimp with the butter mixture, then put into the oven.
  • Roast the shrimp until they're cooked through adn the butter is bubbly, about 20 minutes.
  • Serve in a large bowl, making sure to drizzle all the juice over the top.
  • Dip the bread into the juice.

1 lb shrimp, peeled, leaving tail and first segment of shell intact, and deveined
8 garlic cloves, minced
2 medium shallots, minced
2 tablespoons ground black pepper
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 lemon, juice and zest of, finely grated
8 sprigs fresh thyme
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons hot sauce
3/4 cup dark beer, such as Bass
4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Steps:

  • Combine shrimp, garlic, shallots, black pepper, salt, lmeon zest and juice, thyme sprigs, Worcestershire, hot sauce, and beer in a large bowl. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour and up to 6 hours.
  • Heat a 12-inch skillet over moderately high heat until hot, then add 2 tablespoons of the butter and the shrimp and marinade all at once, stirring constantly. Cook for 4 minutes or until the shrimp is pink and the bits of garlic are golden brown.
  • Remove shrimp from the pan and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. (The sauce should have a thick consistency.).
  • Spoon the sauce over the shrimp. Serve over pasta or rice or with warm crusty bread.
