Fresh lavender gives a delicious twist to this sparkling lemonade.

Ingredients

1 cup freshly-squeezed lemon juice
1 cup lavender simple syrup (recipe below)
1 cup sparkling water or champagne
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp. fresh lavender buds

Steps:

Stir all ingredients together until combined. Serve over ice.
Stir all ingredients together in a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and refrigerate.

Lavender buds lend subtle floral notes to a refreshing, homemade sparkling lemonade. The recipe comes from lavender afficionado Jennifer Vasich.

Ingredients

2 cups water
1 cup honey
2 tablespoons fresh or dried lavender buds
1 cup lemon juice
2 cups sparkling water
Lemon wedges or slices (optional)
Sprigs of fresh lavender (optional)

Steps:

For syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine the 2 cups water, the honey and lavender buds. Bring to boiling over medium heat; remove saucepan from heat as soon as the syrup comes to a boil. Let steep for 10 minutes. Pour syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a 2-quart pitcher; discard lavender buds. Let cool to room temperature; stir in lemon juice. Cover and chill for 4 to 24 hours.
To serve, add the 2 cups sparkling water to the lemon mixture. Pour lemonade over ice cubes in tall glasses. Garnish each with a lemon wedge and a fresh sprig of lavender, if you like.

1/4 C. Fresh Lemon Juice
1 1/2 oz. Vodka
1 C. Sparkling Water

Steps:

*Make Lavender Simple Syrup by boiling together 1/2 C. water & 1/2 C. sugar. Add 1 tsp. dried lavender & boil for a couple min. Set aside to cool completely. Strain the syrup to remove lavender buds. Transfer to a container with a tight-fitting lid & refrigerate till needed. Gently stir all ingredients over ice & serve.
