Provided by Jamie Vespa MS, RD

Categories     Entree

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 23

**Pear Slaw**
1 1/2 cups shredded cabbage
1 julienne-cut pear
1/3 red onion (shaved or thinly sliced)
1/2 cup matchstick carrots
1/4 cup thinly sliced radish
1/3 cup cilantro (roughly chopped)
1 1/2 tsp fish sauce
1 1/2 tsp rice wine vinegar
1 tsp granulated sugar
1 tbsp canola or vegetable oil
Juice of 1 lime
Sea salt and black pepper to taste
Optional garnish: sesame seeds
**Ginger-Soy Glazed Pork**
1 - 1.25 lbs boneless pork loin chops
2 cloves of garlic (minced)
3 tbsp lower-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp freshly grated ginger
2 tsp mirin
1/2 tsp Sriracha (optional)
Optional garnish: sliced green onion

Steps:

  • Begin by preparing slaw ingredients. In a large bowl, combine all vegetables. In a smaller bowl, whisk together dressing ingredients: fish sauce, rice wine vinegar, sugar, oil, lime juice, salt and pepper. Pour over vegetables and toss to evenly distribute. Set aside.
  • Prepare pork marinade by adding garlic, soy sauce, honey, ginger, mirin and Sriracha in a medium-sized bowl and whisking to combine. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-HIGH heat.
  • Season pork chops with a dash of salt and pepper and add to heated skillet (*if skillet is NOT non-stick, add a spray of non-stick cooking spray or dash of oil). Sear chops for ~3 minutes, flip and sear for another 2-3 minutes. Reduce heat to medium. Pour marinade evenly over pork chops. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until pork chops are cooked through, flipping once more. You'll notice the marinade will thicken and begin turning into a sticky glaze. Transfer pork chops to a plate and top with sliced green onion. Pair with slaw, top with sesame seeds if desired.

SOY AND HONEY PORK CHOPS

Soy and Honey Pork Chops image

Grilled pork chops brushed with a honey and soy sauce mix. To round out the meal, serve with creamy chive and garlic mashed potatoes.

Provided by Ashley

Categories     Main Dish Recipes     Pork     Pork Chop Recipes     Boneless

Time 30m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 8

½ cup honey
¼ cup soy sauce
1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes
1 pinch freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
4 center-cut boneless pork chops - 1/2-inch thick
2 teaspoons canola oil, or as needed
salt to taste
1 large sweet onion, sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  • Mix honey, soy sauce, crushed red pepper flakes, and black pepper in a bowl. Pour about 2 tablespoons of the honey-soy mixture into a small bowl and save for later. Brush chops with canola oil on both sides, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
  • Grill the chops on the hottest part of the grill until lightly charred and crusty, 4 to 5 minutes per side. Move the chops to a cooler area of the grill, and continue to cook, brushing both sides generously with the honey-soy glaze, until chops are no longer pink inside, about 3 to 4 more minutes. The juices should run clear, and an instant-read meat thermometer inserted into the center of a chop should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
  • While chops are grilling, brush slices of onion with oil, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Grill onion slices until they are translucent and browned, 3 to 4 minutes per side. To serve, place chops and onions on warmed plates, and brush the chops with the reserved honey-soy glaze.

HONEY-SOY GLAZED PORK CHOPS

Honey-Soy Glazed Pork Chops image

I found this recipe on another website, however I do not remember which one. This is quick and easy to prepare. The sauce is delicious served over rice. Do not cook the sauce too long as the soy sauce can become very intense. I usually double the sauce mixture and garlic but that is just my preference.

Provided by Nanette62

Categories     High Protein

Time 25m

Yield 2-4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 boneless pork chops, 3/4 inch thick (approx. 4 ounces each)
1/4 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce (I prefer low sodium)
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
1 garlic clove, minced
2 green onions, sliced for garnish (optional)

Steps:

  • Sprinkle 1 side of each pork chop with black pepper.
  • Heat nonstick skillet over medium high heat until hot.
  • Add pork chops, pepper side down, and cook approximately.
  • 4 minutes or until browned.
  • Reduce heat to medium, turn pork chops and cook 6 to 8 minutes longer or until they just lose their pink color.
  • Transfer pork chops to platter, cover to keep warm.
  • While pork chops are cooking, in a cup or small bowl, mix honey, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar and cornstarch until smooth.
  • After removing pork chops, add garlic to skillet, cook 30 seconds, stirring (no longer so it does not burn).
  • Stir honey mixture into skillet (mixture will boil) and cook 1 to 2 minutes, stirring.
  • The longer the sauce mixture cooks, the soy sauce flavor becomes stronger.
  • Spoon sauce over pork chops.
  • Sprinkle with green onions for garnish, if desired.

Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 11

1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon finely grated lime zest
4 boneless center-cut pork chops (6 to 8 ounces each)
Instant flour, for dredging (recommended: Wondra)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 scallions, white and green, sliced and separated
2 cloves garlic, minced
Steamed greens, such as Swiss Chard or spinach, for serving

Steps:

  • 1. Mix the soy sauce, honey, lime juice and zest, and Hoisin sauce together in a bowl.
  • 2. Trim and pat-dry the pork chops. Place the flour on a shallow bowl and seasoned with salt and pepper. Heat a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Dredge the chops in the flour and shake off excess. Add the oil to the skillet and then the chops, cook until lightly browned, about 4 minutes. Turn and repeat on the other side until lightly browned, about 2 minutes more. Transfer the chops to a plate.
  • 3. Add the scallion whites and garlic to the pan and cook stirring until wilted, about 30 seconds. Add the soy mixture and increase the heat to high and cook, scraping up any browned bits with a wooden spoon until the mixture thickens. Return the chops to the pan and cook, turning often, until glazed and hot, about 2 to 3 minutes. Serve chops drizzled with glaze, scallions tops scattered over, and greens if desired.
