- Combine the sugar and water in a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 45 seconds. Mix until sugar is completely dissolved. If needed put back in microwave for another 20 seconds. Mix again. allow sugar syrup to cool completely. Add coconut extract. Mix. In a large measuring cup or bowl with spout, pour soda in. Pour syrup mixture with extract into soda. Mix gently.
