6 Granny Smith apples (peeled and thinly sliced)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
3 tablespoons corn starch
pinch salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Steps:

  • In slow cooker, stir together sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, corn starch, and salt. Cube butter and stir into the mixture.
  • Cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours, stirring once during cooking.
  • Serve warm.

6 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut in 8 wedges
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
6 tablespoons butter, melted
vanilla ice cream
crumbled oatmeal (optional) or gingersnap cookie (optional)

Steps:

  • You will need 1 Reynolds Slow Cooker Liner.
  • Place liner inside a 3-6 1/2 quart slow cooker. Fit liner snugly against the bottom and sides of bowl; pull top of liner over rim of slow cooker.
  • Place apples in the lined slow cooker; drizzle with lemon juice.
  • Mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmedg in a medium bowl. Sprinkle mixture over apples; stir gently to coat apples. Drizzle with butter. Place lid on slow cooker.
  • Cook on low for 3 hours or high for 2 hours until apples are done.
  • Carefully remove lid to allow steam to escape. Serve warm apple topping over ice cream. Top with crumbled cookies, if desired. Do not lift or transport liner with food inside. Cool slow cooker completely; remove liner and toss.

6 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cut into eighths
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup maple-flavored syrup
1/4 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Steps:

  • Spray 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. In slow cooker, toss apples and lemon juice to coat. Add brown sugar, walnuts, syrup, cranberries, melted butter and cinnamon; stir well.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 3 hours.
  • In small bowl, stir together water and cornstarch until smooth. Stir into apple mixture in slow cooker. Cover; cook 3 hours longer or until apples are tender.

3 lbs tart apples, sliced cored, and peeled (I actually prefer to leave the peels on, but that's up to you)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 dash ground nutmeg
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup sugar
2 -3 tablespoons butter, sliced into a few thin pieces

Steps:

  • Put first 5 ingredients in your crock pot.
  • Stir well to coat the apples with all the spices.
  • Dot with butter.
  • Cook on low about 4 hours.
  • Stir once during cooking.
  • Since crock pot temperatures vary, you should check to make sure that apples are soft but not mushy like apple sauce.
  • It should have the consistency of apple pie filling.
  • This is DELICIOUS warm with vanilla ice cream!
  • It's good plain too.
