1 cup chicken broth
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 to 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
6 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (about 6 ounces each)
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup water
4 ounces uncooked rice noodles
Chopped green onions

Steps:

  • Combine first 10 ingredients until well mixed. Place chicken in a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker; add broth mixture. Cook, covered, on low until tender, 3-4 hours. Remove chicken; when cool enough to handle, coarsely shred meat with 2 forks. Set aside., In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth; stir into cooking juices. Return chicken to slow cooker; add noodles. Cook, covered, on low for 15 minutes. Stir noodles; cook until thickened and noodles are tender, 15 minutes longer. Serve with green onions.

The easiest orange chicken ever because your slow cooker does all the work!! Super juicy, tender, and coated with a sweet-yet-tangy orange glaze that's irresistible!!

2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 1/2 to 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon pepper, or to taste
1 cup orange marmalade
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 to 1 teaspoon ground ginger, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
2 tablespoons sesame seeds, lightly toasted if desired (add to a dry skillet and cook over medium heat for about 30 seconds or until fragrant)
2 tablespoons green onions, sliced thin for garnishing
orange slices, optional for garnishing

Steps:

  • Line a 3 to 6-quart slow cooker with a liner if using one. I prefer to use liners for easy cleanup.
  • Drizzle 1 tablespoon olive oil over bottom of the liner or slow cooker.
  • To a large, gallon-sized ziptop plastic bag, add the chicken, cornstarch, salt, pepper, seal bag, and toss to coat chicken evenly. Add chicken to slow cooker, evenly distributed; set aside.
  • To a 2-cup measuring cup or medium bowl, add the orange marmalade, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil, ginger (I prefer 1 teaspoon but some people are sensitive to ginger), garlic, remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil and stir to combine.
  • Pour mixture over the chicken, using a spoon to distribute the sauce as necessary, making sure all pieces are coated.
  • Cook covered on high for about 2 hours or on low for about 4 hours. If cooking on high, start checking at 90 minutes and if cooking on low, start checking at 3 hours. All slow cookers vary so cook until chicken is done (reaches 165F on an instant read thermometer).
  • Add chicken to a plate with as much extra cooking sauce spooned over the top as desired, garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, optional orange wedges, and serve immediately.

1 1/4 lbs Chicken Breasts (cut into 1 inch chunks)
1/4 Cup Cornstarch
Salt and Pepper
1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
3/4 Cup Orange Marmalade
1/4 Cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
1 Tbsp Rice Wine Vinegar
1 Tsp Sesame Oil
1/2 Tsp Garlic Clove (minced)
1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
2 Tbsp Green Onions (diced)

Steps:

  • Place the chicken pieces in a bowl. Add the cornstarch and salt and pepper. Toss to coat the chicken in the cornstarch mixture.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan over medium high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. You may need to work in batches.
  • Coat a slow cooker with cooking spray and add the chicken to the slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the orange marmalade, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil and garlic.
  • Pour the sauce over the chicken and gently stir to coat.
  • Cook on low for 2-3 hours.
  • If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 pounds boneless white meat chicken (cut into cubes)
1 cup orange marmalade
⅓ cup cornstarch
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
½ teaspoon sea salt
2 tablespoons sesame oil
1 teaspoon ginger
2 whole garlic cloves (pressed)
2 tablespoons green onion (sliced )

Steps:

  • Drizzle 2 tablespoons of olive oil into the bottom of a 6-qaurt slow cooker.
  • Add salt, pepper flakes, cornstarch, and cubed chicken to a zippered bag. Shake to coat with cornstarch. You do not want to over coat the pieces because it will thicken the sauce too much. Add coated chicken into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • Add marmalade, sesame oil, rice vinegar, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic to a small bowl and whisk to combine. Pour sauce over cubed chicken, and stir to combine.
  • Cover slow cooker with the lid and cook on high for 2 hours. Check the chicken with a thermometer at the 90 minute mark to ensure the internal temperature has reached 165°F. Additionally, this can be cooked on low for 4 hours checking the chicken at the 3-hour mark.
  • Serve chicken with green onion, and toasted sesame seeds over the rice of your choice.

1 tsp garlic, crushed
1 tsp ginger, minced
½ cup sweet orange marmalade
½ cup BBQ Sauce
2 Tbsp teriyaki sauce
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 Tbsp water

Steps:

  • In a slow cooker, mix together the garlic, ginger, sweet orange marmalade, BBQ sauce, and the teriyaki sauce. Mix until well combined.
  • Mix in the cubed chicken breasts.
  • Cook on low for 6 hours.
  • Roughly 15 minutes before you serve, mix the cornstarch and water until it forms a paste.
