Chocolate? Check! Cherries? Check! Black Forest Parfaits are super easy & so delicious when you make homemade cake & homemade whipped topping!

Number Of Ingredients 5

Basic Dark Chocolate Cake (cut into cubes)
3-4 tablespoons of Cherry Pie Filling per parfait
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
2 Tablespoons powdered sugar (I used Imperial Powdered Sugar)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Pour the heavy whipping cream into a large bowl; add the vanilla extract and powdered sugar.
  • Mix on low for about 30 seconds until you start to see some foam. Turn it up a little and run it about 30 seconds to a minute, gradually going up in speed until you see stiff peaks form. Don't over whip!
  • Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
  • Place the cubes of chocolate cake into the bottom and sides of a glass serving bowl.
  • Spoon the cherry pie filling on top making sure to get down into the chocolate cake too.
  • Top with a scoop of homemade whipped cream.
  • Garnish with cocoa powder, nuts and a cherry.

1/2 cup frozen Cascadian Farm™ unsweetened pitted tart red or dark sweet cherries, thawed and drained
1 (3.75 ounce) container sugar-free chocolate ready-to-eat pudding
2 tablespoons sliced almonds, toasted

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Place ladyfinger cubes on a baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes or until toasted. Set aside to cool.
  • Divide the ladyfinger cubes between two 6-ounce dishes. Top with cherries, pudding, and almonds. Serve immediately.

3 ounces cream cheese
1/3 cup cherry juice
2 cups skim milk
12 ounces red sour pitted cherries (1 can)
3 ounces sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix
1 tablespoon cornstarch
6 teaspoons Equal sugar substitute (6 pkg)

Steps:

  • Blend cream cheese with 1/4 cup skim milk on low speed of electric mixer, until smooth. Add remaining milk and pudding mix. Mix 1 or 2 minutes or until smooth.
  • Mix cornstarch in cherry juice until dissolved. Add to cherries and cook until it boils for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in Equal.
  • Alternately spoon pudding and cherries into parfait dishes, ending with pudding. Garnish with 2 cherries.

Steps:

  • In a bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes or until soft-set. Stir in 1 cup pie filling; gently fold in 1 cup whipped topping. Spoon half of the pudding mixture into six tall glasses or cups. Top with remaining pie filling, pudding mixture and whipped topping. Garnish with cherries if desired.
