SIZZLE BURGERS
Sizzle burgers are fried ground beef patties seasoned with salt and pepper, in a pan with Worcestershire sauce and butter. Place them on a bun and enjoy!

- Divide the meat into 4 equal portions. Form each portion into a ¼-inch-thick burger. Do not over pack and make a deep depression in the center with your thumb, so that it will not shrink as much. Season both sides of each burger with salt and pepper.
- Heat the 2 tablespoons of butter in the pan or medium-high heat until the butter begins to foam. Splash in some Worcestershire sauce and place burger in the pan. Cook until golden brown and very slightly charred on the first side, about 3 minutes.
- Before flipping the burgers add 2 tablespoons more of the butter and allow it to melt. Flip the burgers over and move them around in the butter to coat the bottoms. Splash is some more Worcestershire and cook the burgers until golden brown and very slightly charred on the second side. 4 minutes for medium rare (3 minutes if topping with cheese).
- Add the cheese, if using, to the tops of the burgers during the last minute of cooking and top the pan with a lid or tent the burgers with aluminum foil to melt the cheese. Remove the burgers from the pan. Place in a warm place and allow to rest while browning the buns.
- Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in the pan. Split the buns in half and place them in the pan. Allow the buns to brown and become crispy.
- Sandwich the hot burgers between the buns, add toppings and serve immediately.

- Place meat in a large bowl and add seasonings, Worchestershire Sauce, egg, and breadcrumbs to the dish.
- Mix together gently and thoroughly with hands and loosely form into 8 hamburger patties, do not squeeze patties together.
- Preheat griddle or pan adding 1 tablespoon of butter before placing 4 burgers onto the hot pan, careful not to burn the butter.
- Cook on each side, allowing the patties to get a dark, crusty outer layer and the desired doneness on the inside.
- Remove burgers and set aside then repeat with the next 4 burgers.
- Turn off the heat and place all of the burgers together in the pan, serve emmeiately or cover and set aside.

- COMBINE beef, Worcestershire, 2/3 cup French Fried Onions, garlic salt and pepper in large bowl. Shape into 4 patties.
- PLACE patties on oiled grid. Grill* over medium heat 10 minutes or until no longer pink in center, turning once. Serve on rolls. Top with remaining 2/3 cup onions.

- In a medium bowl, mix together the ground beef, 1/2 cup ketchup, bread crumbs, onion powder, steak seasoning, salt, and pepper. Form into small fat hamburger patties, or meatballs.
- Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties in the skillet, and cook until browned on both sides. Remove patties to a plate, and drain grease from the skillet.
- In the same pan, slowly stir together the remaining ketchup and water if the mixture seems thin, add a bit more ketchup, or if it is thick, add more water. Add the onion, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Return the patties to the pan, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir after the 30 minutes, and if the gravy is still thin, continue simmering with the lid off until gravy thickens.

My husband found this recipe many years ago in a magazine, and we have made our hamburgers like this ever since. They are yum! They come out juicy and full of flavor. I make my hamburger patties out of ground chuck by pulling off a hunk and forming a patty with as little touching as possible- keeps them moist that way.
