Steps:

• Stir milk and sugar together in a microwave-safe glass or mug. Microwave until hot, about 2 minutes. Stir in chocolate syrup until completely incorporated.

• Bring the liquid almost to a simmer with the salt over medium heat, then remove it from the heat and add the chocolate. • Remove from heat and add vanilla.
• Pour into a 10 ounce mug, garnish as desired, and serve.
• Note - Add other dry spices, such as cinnamon, cayenne or instant coffee during Step 1. Add liquid extracts, such as orange or mint (or flavored liqueurs) at Step 5.
• Optional - You could make this in your microwave, if you wanted. Mix the syrup right in your mug. Cook on "high" for about 30 seconds. Add milk and heat on "medium" for about 2 minutes. Add vanilla and serve.
