"After a long day of shopping, an hour's drive home and another hour putting everything away, I needed to fix something for supper in a hurry," relates Natalie van Viegen of Port Alberni, British Columbia. "I came up with this tasty dish, and my husband and kids ate every bite."

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 cups uncooked bow tie pasta
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cups fresh broccoli florets
1/4 teaspoons salt
8 ounces uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions. , In a large nonstick skillet, saute onion and garlic in butter and oil until tender. Add broccoli and salt; cook and stir over medium-high heat for 8 minutes. Add shrimp; cook and stir 2-3 minutes longer or until shrimp turn pink and broccoli is tender. , Drain pasta; transfer to a large serving bowl. Add the broccoli mixture; toss gently. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

1 lb frozen shrimp
16 ounces frozen broccoli florets
12 ounces penne pasta
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup onion, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Cook pasta and drain.
  • In a large skillet, saute garlic and onion in butter, oil, and salt until tender.
  • Add broccoli. Cook and stir for about 6 minutes.
  • Add shrimp. Cook for another 5 minutes, or until shrimp is pink and broccoli is tender.
  • Stir in pasta and sprinkle with cheese.

Another light great tasting pasta. I love all the garlic. You can adjust the heat by playing with the pepper flakes!

10 -12 cloves garlic
1 cup chicken stock
7 ounces angel hair pasta
2 tablespoons water
1 lb broccoli floret
1/2 cup white onion
1/2 lb uncooked medium shrimp, peeled,deveined and halved
1/2 cup fresh dill, chopped
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes (more for a bit more kick)

Steps:

  • Put the garlic and stock in a small sauce pan and bring to boil.
  • Reduce the heat to low and cover.
  • Simmer for about 20 minutes or until the garlic is soft enough to mash with a fork.
  • Transfer the contents of the pan to a food processor or blender and puree until smooth.
  • Set aside Bring large pot of water to boil.
  • Add the pasta, stirring to make sure the strands don't stick together, and cook over high heat to desired tenderness.
  • Meanwhile, put 1 Tbs of the water in a nonstick frying pan and bring to a boil over medium.
  • Add the broccoli and onion, reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add the shrimp, dill, and the remaining Tbs of water.
  • Stir, recover and cook for 4-5 minutes until shrimp is pink.
  • Remove from heat When the pasta is done, drain and return it to the pot over very low heat.
  • Add the garlic puree and mix well to coat the pasta.
  • Add the broccoli shrimp mix and the seasonings.
  • Toss together until well blended and serve immediately.

2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup chopped shallot
1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
1/2 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of shrimp soup
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon cream sherry
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon preprared horseradish
1/2 cup grated sharp white cheddar cheese
2 cups cooked fettuccine
1 cup broccoli floret, cooked in water to cover until tender and drained

Steps:

  • In a 3-quart saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; add in shallots and Old Bay seasoning; stir/saute 2 minutes or until the shallots are softened.
  • Add in the shrimp; stir/saute for about 2 minutes or until shrimp begin to turn pink.
  • Stir in the soup, milk, mayonnaise, sherry, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, and 1/4 cup cheese; stir and cook just until cheese melts.
  • Add in the pasta and broccoli; stir to combine.
  • Transfer mixture to a greased 2 quart casserole dish.
  • Top with remaining cheese.
  • Bake in a 350° oven for 30-45 minutes or until casserole bubbles and cheese is golden.
