We've been making this recipe for over twenty years. It was a favorite potluck appetizer recipe shared by a previous co-worker.

Steps:
- Make one day ahead.
- Let cream cheese rest at room temperature until soft.
- Mash all ingredients together (a potato masher works great).
- Chill before serving, at least one day.

SHRIMP DIP IV
This is an old recipe that my mother found in a drawer. It doesn't sound very good, but it is delicious.

Steps:
- In a medium saucepan, heat tomato soup (undiluted) to boiling. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, soften the gelatin in 1/4 cup of water.
- In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, softened cream cheese and softened gelatin. Mix thoroughly. Fold in shrimp, celery, onion, green pepper. Mix thoroughly. Blend in horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
- Pour mixture into a 5 or 6 cup refrigerator mold, or into two smaller molds. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

I first tasted this seafood dip at a family reunion and requested the recipe right away. It's since become a fixture at our Christmas Day celebration, partly because it's so easy- but mostly because it's so yummy!

- In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese, sour cream, onion, celery salt, tabasco sauce, garlic powder and mayonnaise until well combined.
- Taste the mixture and adjust seasonings to taste.
- Stir in shrimp.

- Set aside a few of the nicer looking shrimp, then chop up the rest.
- In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese and mayonnaise until well blended. A blender works best, to get the mixture nice and smooth. Then stir in the chopped shrimp, green onion, and garlic salt.
- Transfer dip to a small serving bowl and top with reserved whole shrimp and additional green onion. Sprinkle a bit of freshly ground black pepper over the top. Serve with crackers and fresh veggies for dipping. For crackers, we mostly serve this dip with Ritz Original Crackers or Keebler Original Club Crackers.

Shrimp Surprise Spread - The Best Shrimp Dip Ever! This dip or spread is perfect for entertaining - especially on Game Day!

- Beat together the cream cheese, sour cream and mayo until smooth and creamy. Spread out on a large plate with an edge or in a 9x13 pan.
- Spread the seafood sauce over the cream cheese mixture gently.
- Sprinkle the shrimp over top of the sauce in an even layer.
- Layer the remaining ingredients however you like. I usually go green peppers, tomatoes, a little cheese, green onions and then the rest of the cheese.
- Refrigerate until serving.
- Serve with Ritz crackers for the BEST taste, but this also works with tortilla chips!

- Use an electric mixer to blend the chili sauce into the cream cheese in a large mixing bowl until very smooth. Add all of the remaining ingredients, except the shrimp, and blend until well combined.
- Use a spoon to fold in the shrimp and chives, reserving a couple of tablespoons of shrimp for garnish. Cover and chill for at least an hour or two prior to serving.
- Pile the reserved shrimp in the center of the dip and serve with Ritz Crackers and celery sticks.
