1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Cook tortellini according to package directions, adding peas during the last 5 minutes of cooking., Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, heat 2 tablespoons oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp; cook and stir 2 minutes. Add garlic; cook 1-2 minutes longer or until shrimp turn pink., Drain tortellini mixture; add to skillet. Stir in salt, thyme, pepper and remaining oil; toss to coat.

1 can (14-1/2 oz.) no-salt-added diced tomatoes, undrained
3/4 lb. cooked cleaned medium shrimp
1 pkg. (6 oz.) baby spinach leaves
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
2 Tbsp. KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Steps:

  • Cook pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Meanwhile, heat dressing in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add garlic; cook 1 min. Add tomatoes and shrimp; mix well. Bring just to boil. Stir in spinach; cover. Simmer 1 to 2 min. or until spinach is wilted, stirring occasionally.
  • Drain pasta. Add to skillet with basil; simmer, uncovered, 3 to 4 min. or until sauce is thickened, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve topped with cheese.

1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped sweet red pepper
1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
Dash dried basil
Dash dried oregano
1 cup half-and-half cream
1/4 cup white wine or chicken broth
1-1/2 to 2 cups refrigerated three-cheese tortellini or tortellini of your choice
1 bay leaf
1/2 pound uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

Steps:

  • In a skillet, saute the green pepper, red pepper, mushrooms, onion and garlic in butter until almost tender. Stir in the flour, garlic salt, basil and oregano until blended. Combine cream and wine; gradually stir into pepper mixture. Add bay leaf. Cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for about 8 minutes or until thickened, stirring several times., Meanwhile, cook tortellini in boiling water for about 5 minutes or until tender; drain. Cook shrimp in boiling water for 3 minutes or until they turn pink; drain. Discard bay leaf. Stir tortellini and shrimp into sauce.

1 lb unpeeled medium shrimp
1 (9 ounce) package fresh tortellini, with cheese filling uncooked
1/3 cup butter or 1/3 cup margarine
1 shallot, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or 2 teaspoons dried basil
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Peel/devein shrimp and set aside.
  • Cook the tortellini by following the package directions; drain and set aside.
  • In a big skillet over medium-high heat, melt the butter.
  • Add in the shrimp, shallot, and basil.

I was looking in the freezer trying to figure out what to make for supper when I saw tortellini and shrimp, so I thought that it would be good in an Alfredo sauce. The smaller the shrimp, the better the blend. I posted this recipe on our local TV station's site and it went nationwide. I have also received 5-star reviews on this recipe. I serve this at our local Elk's club.

1 pound frozen peeled and deveined baby shrimp
1 stick butter, divided
1 pint heavy cream
4 ounces cream cheese
¼ cup chopped leek
¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 pound frozen cheese tortellini
1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Thaw frozen shrimp in a colander by running cold water over them.
  • Heat 1 teaspoon butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Saute shrimp until they are bright pink on the outside and the meat is opaque, 3 to 4 minutes, making sure not to overcook.
  • Combine remaining butter, heavy cream, cream cheese, and leek in a saucepan over medium heat. Let simmer until melted and mixed well, about 5 minutes. Stir in Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let Alfredo sauce simmer over low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Add tortellini and heat through, about 5 minutes. Toss shrimp into the sauce, coating well. Top with parsley and serve.

  • While the shrimp is cooking, bring a large pot of water (and 1 tbsp of salt) to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions. In the last two minutes of cooking, add the chopped asparagus. Drain the tortellini and asparagus and add it to the bowl with the shrimp.
  • Make the beurre blanc sauce. Add the white wine, vinegar, lemon juice and shallots to a pot. Bring to a light boil over medium high heat. Allow this mixutre to reduce by atleast 1/2. This mixture should not render much more than 1/4 cup after it is reduced.
  • Reduce the heat to low. Add in the heavy cream. Mix the heavy cream and let it simmer for 1 minute. Add the cubed butter, one cube at a time. Use a fork to move the butter cube around the bottom of the pan to help it melt faster. Once it is melted, add the next cube of butter. Continue to add more butter once the previous cube has melted. Melt all the butter into the sauce. Remove from heat.
