1 lb ground beef
5 cups water
2 cans beef broth
1 (16 ounce) package frozen cubed hash brown potatoes
1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 cups instant potato flakes

Steps:

  • In a soup pot, brown ground beef for 8-10 minutes, until no pink remains; drain off grease.
  • Add the remaining ingredients except the potato flakes and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes.
  • Stir in the potato flakes and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until thickened.
  • Serve.

Rely on this English classic for a complete meal of meat, potatoes and veggies, all in one dish. It's super easy with Hamburger Helper® and Betty Crocker® potatoes.

1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
Hot water and milk called for on Hamburger Helper box
1 box Hamburger Helper™ Salisbury
1 1/2 cups frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
Betty Crocker™ mashed potatoes for 6 servings
Water, milk and butter called for on mashed potatoes box for 6 servings
1/4 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (1 oz)
Chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • In 10-inch skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until brown; drain. Stir in hot water, milk, sauce mix and uncooked pasta (from Hamburger Helper box) and thawed vegetables. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
  • Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta and vegetables are tender. Remove from heat.
  • Meanwhile, make potatoes as directed on box for 6 servings. Spoon and gently spread mashed potatoes over pasta mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover; let stand about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with parsley.

  • Prepare the broth: Melt 2 Tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
