Incredibly easy homemade version of the classic McDonald's seasonal shake!

6 cups vanilla ice cream ((1.5 quart container))
1 1/2 cups whole milk
3/4 tsp pure mint extract ((you want mint - not peppermint))
1/8 tsp green food coloring ((approximately 10-15 drops of liquid food coloring))
whipped cream - for serving
green sanding or sparkling sugar - for serving
maraschino cherries - for serving

Steps:

  • Add ice cream, milk, mint extract and food coloring to large blender. I ended up having to do mine in batches, but if you have a large and powerful blender you might be able to do it all at once.
  • Blend until smooth. Pour into serving glasses.
  • Top with whipped cream, green sugar and a cherry, if desired.

  • combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until smooth. stop blender to stir with a spoon if necessary to blend ice cream.
  • pour into 2 12-ounce cups and serve with a straw.

  • In a blender, combine the vanilla ice cream, milk, green food coloring, and peppermint extract, and process until smooth, about 30 seconds. Pour the shake into a glass and top with the whipped cream and maraschino cherry.

I don't follow the WW diet, so I can't speak for the accuracy of the WW information. But I've included all the WW info for those who want to know the point values, etc. One 16-ounce serving is WW (old plan) 4 points or WW (new plan) Points Plus 5. If you're looking to cut the calories and points, share it with someone, which one 8-ounce serving is still very satisfying and is WW (old plan) 2 points or WW (new plan) Points Plus 3.

1/2 cup nonfat milk

3 -4 ice cubes
whipped cream, fat-free (optional garnish)

Steps:

  • Pour into a 16-ounce glass. (Or for two servings, split evenly among two 8-ounce glasses.) Top with light whipped cream, if desired and enjoy immediately. It's great with or without the whipped cream.
