Air Fryer Polenta Fries image

These polenta fries made in the air fryer are simple, crunchy, delicious, and addictive. My first batch was an experiment and they were so good that I ran out and bought another tube. Serve with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce.

AIR-FRIED CAJUN POLENTA FRIES

Air-Fried Cajun Polenta Fries image

Pre-made polenta, Cajun seasoning, olive oil, and a little salt are all you need for these crispy polenta fries. They are great right out of the oven but also good cold. Polenta fries are a healthier alternative than fries made from potatoes; they have fewer carbs. Serve with a simple aioli, ketchup, or desired dipping sauce.

SEASONED AIR-FRYER POLENTA FRIES

Seasoned Air-Fryer Polenta Fries image

When you look at a tube of precooked polenta, you might not think French fries. That's about to change. Turns out, this cornmeal-based staple product cuts into perfect crinkle shapes and crisps right up in an air fryer while maintaining a slightly creamy interior. Plus the polenta is sturdy enough to withstand piling in an air-fryer basket, so you can cook all four servings at once.

Categories     Lunch,Dinner

Time 25m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 spray(s) Cooking spray
18 oz Fat free ready-to-eat polenta (in tube)
0.5 tsp Garlic powder
0.5 tsp Smoked paprika
0.5 tsp Chili powder
0.25 tsp Kosher salt
0.5 cup(s) Jarred fat-free marinara sauce warmed

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 400°F.
  • Cut the polenta in half crosswise. Cut each half lengthwise into 4 planks. Using a crinkle cutter or sharp knife, cut the planks into strips to form fries. Place the polenta in a large shallow dish and coat with cooking spray. Sprinkle with the garlic powder, paprika, chili powder, and salt and toss gently to coat.
  • Coat the air-fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the polenta fries in the basket and coat with cooking spray. Cook the fries in the air fryer until crisp and browned, about 20 minutes, gently shaking the basket every 6 to 7 minutes. Serve the polenta fries with the marinara.
  • Serving size: ¾ cup polenta fries and 2 tbsp marinara
