1 roll (16.5 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookie Dough
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
1 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup sugar

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 15x10x1-inch pan with shortening. In large bowl, break up cookie dough. Stir or knead in cinnamon and almond extract until well blended. With floured fingers, press dough mixture evenly in bottom of pan to form crust. (DO NOT EAT RAW COOKIE DOUGH AFTER PRESSING DOUGH IN PAN WITH FLOURED FINGERS.)
  • In small bowl, beat egg white and water until frothy. Brush over dough. Sprinkle evenly with almonds and sugar.
  • Bake 17 to 22 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. For diamond-shaped bars, cut 5 straight parallel lines about 1 1/2 inches apart down length of pan; cut diagonal lines about 1 1/2 inches apart across straight lines.

3/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup seedless raspberry jam
3 large egg whites
6 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1 cup sliced almonds, divided
Additional confectioners' sugar, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, cream butter and confectioners' sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add flour and mix well. Press onto the bottom of a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake 18-20 minutes or until lightly browned., Spread jam over crust. In a large bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually beat in sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, on high until stiff peaks form. Fold in coconut and 1/2 cup almonds. Spread over jam. Sprinkle with remaining almonds. Bake 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely on a wire rack. Dust with additional confectioners' sugar if desired.

2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, melted
2 cups all-purpose flour
2-1/2 teaspoons almond extract
Confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until lemon-colored. Beat in butter and extract; gradually stir in the four and mix well. Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. , Bake at 325° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
milk
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1 cup icing sugar
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
3 -4 teaspoons milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°.
  • Stir together flour, baking powder and salt.
  • In a large bowl beat margarine or butter till softened.
  • Add sugar and beat till fluffy.
  • Add egg and the 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract and beat well.
  • Add the flour mixture and beat till well mixed.
  • Divide the dough into fourths, form each portion into a 12 inch roll.
  • Place 2 of the rolls 4 to 5-inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Flatten each roll till it is about 3 inches wide.
  • Repeat with the remaining rolls.
  • Brush each flattened roll with milk and sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of almonds each.
  • Bake in a 325° oven for 12-14 minutes or till edges are lightly brown.
  • While still warm, cut crosswise on the diagonal into 1 inch strips.
  • Cool completely on a wire rack.
  • Stir together the powdered sugar, the almond extract and enough of the 3-4 teaspoons of milk to make a drizzling consistency.
  • Drizzle over the cool bars.

Steps:

  • 1. Stir together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large mixer bowl beat butter till softened. Add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add egg and almond extract and beat well. Add flour mixture and beat till well mixed. 2. Divide dough into fourths. Form each into a 12 - inch roll. Place two rolls 4 to 5 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten till 3 inches wide. Repeat with remaining rolls. 3. Brush flattened rolls with milk and sprinkle with almonds. (and Christmas decors). Bake in a 325o oven for 12 to 14 minutes or till edges are lightly browned. While cookies are still warm, cut them crosswise at a diagonal into 1 inch wide strips. Cool. Drizzle with Almond Icing.

1 cup white sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon almond extract
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup sliced almonds
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup confectioners' sugar
¼ teaspoon almond extract
¼ cup milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and almond extract; mix until fluffy. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt; mix well.
  • Divide dough into 4 pieces, and roll each one into a log about 12 inches long. Place 2 logs per cookie sheet 4 to 5 inches apart. Flatten each roll by hand until it is about 3 inches wide. Brush flattened roll with milk and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  • Bake in preheated oven 12 to 15 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. While the cookies are still warm, cut them crosswise at a diagonal, into slices about 1 inch wide. When cool, drizzle with almond icing.
  • Almond icing: In a small bowl, stir together powdered sugar, almond extract, and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cookies.
