This is a recipe that's been handed down from my grandmother. My whole family loves it and we all grew up on it! Hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients

⅔ cup white sugar
⅓ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
3 eggs, beaten
2 cups milk
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 bananas, peeled and sliced
½ (12 ounce) package vanilla wafer cookies

Steps:

In medium saucepan combine sugar, flour, and salt. Add eggs and stir well. Stir in milk, and cook over low heat, stirring constantly. When mixture begins to thicken, remove from heat and continue to stir, cooling slightly. Stir in vanilla and butter until smooth.
Layer pudding with bananas and vanilla wafers in a serving dish. Chill at least one hour in refrigerator before serving.

1 (8-ounce) package Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
3 cups cold milk
2 (3.4-ounce) packages Jell-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding
35 shortbread cookies, coarsely crushed, divided
5 bananas, sliced
1 1/2 cups thawed Cool Whip Whipped Topping

Steps:

Beat cream cheese in large bowl with mixer on medium speed until creamy. Gradually beat in 1 cup milk, mixing well after each addition. Gradually beat in remaining milk alternately with pudding mixes, then beat on low speed 2 minutes. Reserve 1/4 cup cookie crumbs; spread remaining crumbs onto bottom of 9 x 13" dish. Cover with layers of bananas, pudding mixture and Cool Whip. Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs. Refrigerate 3 hours.
