BREADED MUSHROOMS RECIPE
Breaded mushrooms can be delicious - crunchy on the outside, with a lovely mushroom on the inside.

Steps:
- Mix the flour, garlic powder, salt, and za'atar in the first bowl.
- Whisk the eggs and milk together in the second bowl.
- Put the bread crumbs into the third bowl.
- Pour about two inches of vegetable oil into your frying pot and heat until the oil is hot enough for frying.
- Take the prepared mushrooms and coat them well in the flour mixture, then dip into the egg mixture, again until well coated, and finally put the mushrooms into the breadcrumbs and coat.
- Place coated mushrooms into the hot oil until golden brown, turning once.
- Remove and place on a tray lined with paper towels to soak up the excess oil.
- Sprinkle with black pepper if you would like. More salt pepper to taste.

- Submerge the mushrooms in cold water, swish around to wash thoroughly, and drain. Trim the ends, slice and place in a large bowl. Squeeze the juice of the lemon half over the mushrooms and toss.
- Put the garlic in a large pan and pour in the olive oil. Heat over medium-high heat until the garlic begins to sizzle but not brown, about 30 seconds. Add the mushrooms, stir, and cover. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 minutes.
- Remove the lid, add the salt and pepper, and cook, stirring, until all moisture is evaporated and the mushrooms begin to brown, about 5 minutes. Stir in the parsley and serve.

- Pour oil into a large saucepan or deep fryer to a depth of 3 to 4 inches. Heat the oil to 350 degrees.
- Gently clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. If these stems are very large (greater than 3/4 inch), trim off the stem, as they may be woody. If the mushrooms are small, there is no need to trim off the stem.
- Combine the flour with the salt and pepper in a bowl. Stir to combine the flour mixture.
- Combine buttermilk and water in another bowl
- Dredge the mushrooms in the seasoned flour, shaking off the excess, and then dip them in the buttermilk.
- Dredge them in the flour again. Knock off the excess flour.
- Lower the mushrooms gently into the hot oil, cook them until they are golden brown. It will take about 2 to 3 minutes for the mushrooms to cook. Drain on a wire rack. Serve with your favorite sauce.

- Cut mushrooms in half and put into a bowl with all other ingredients. Gently mix together so they're coated.
