ITALIAN COUNTRY STYLE RIBS

This is a recipe that I came up with when I got tired of 'the same old thing'. It's easy and delicious. You can add things like mushrooms or peppers. Serve with white rice or noodles, salad and bread. You can pour the sauce over the rice/noodles.

Provided by Linda Kuipers

Categories     Pork     Bake     Dinner     Pork Rib     Grill/Barbecue     Gourmet     Michigan     Dairy Free     Peanut Free     Tree Nut Free     Soy Free

Yield Makes 6 to 8 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

4 lb boneless country-style pork ribs
1 large onion, finely chopped (2 cups)
4 garlic cloves, minced (2 tablespoons)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 1/2 cups ketchup (12 oz)
2/3 cup honey
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
6 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from 2 lemons)
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon dry mustard
2 teaspoons drained bottled horseradish
1 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Put oven rack in middle position and preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Put ribs in a 6- to 8-quart pot and cover with water by two inches. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, skimming froth, 30 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, cook onion and garlic in oil in a 3- to 4-quart heavy saucepan over moderate heat, stirring occasionally, until onion is tender, about 15 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes.
  • Drain pork in a colander and pat dry, then arrange in 1 layer using tongs in a 13- by 9-inch baking dish. Pour sauce over pork to coat evenly, then cover dish tightly with foil. Bake 1 hour, then remove foil and carefully turn pork over with tongs and cook, uncovered, until very tender, about 30 minutes. Skim fat from sauce if desired.

BAKED COUNTRY-STYLE STICKY RIBS

Baked Country-Style Sticky Ribs image

Baked Country-Style Sticky Ribs might just be your family's favorite new way to eat pork! Fall-apart-tender, no bones, and a deliciously wicked and sticky bbq sauce make this cut of pork a great alternative to traditional ribs...especially since they are so ridiculously cheap and easy to make.

Provided by Chef Alli

Categories     Main Course

Time 2h40m

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 lbs. country-style boneless pork ribs
2 Tbs. smoked paprika
1 Tbs. black pepper
3 Tbs. dark brown sugar
2 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp. granulated garlic
1 tsp. granulated onion
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
2 Tbs. honey or agave nectar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F. Fully cover a rimmed baking sheet (I use 13" x 18") with heavy-duty aluminum foil, taking care not to puncture any holes in the foil; set aside.
  • Meanwhile, combine the rib rub ingredients together in a small bowl. Cover your work surface with a sheet of foil, then lay the ribs out and use your fingers to rub the prepared rib rub all over each rib on all sides. Combine the BBQ sauce and honey in a small bowl and set aside.
  • Place the seasoned ribs in a single layer onto the foil-lined baking sheet; cover tightly with a second piece of foil. Place the seasoned ribs into the oven and bake for approx.1-2 hours, depending on the size of your ribs. The ribs should be very fork-tender before you remove them from the oven, so if you need to bake them a bit longer, it's totally fine.
  • Remove the ribs from the oven. Carefully pull back the foil cover. You will see that there is a fair amount of fats/grease in the pan that has rendered as the ribs baked. Use tongs to carefully remove the ribs from the fats to a new foil-covered baking sheet.
  • Using a silicone basting brush, gently baste the ribs with the prepared bbq sauce mixture, getting into all the nooks and crannies of each rib. Return the ribs to the oven for 30 minutes, basting on more sauce as desired, throughout that time. When the sauce on the ribs is nicely sticky, they're done!
  • Serve ribs with additional sauce, on the side, as desired.

EASY COUNTRY-STYLE PORK RIBS IN THE OVEN

Easy Country-Style Pork Ribs in the Oven image

Country-style Pork Ribs ribs are a great rich and fall-apart tender alternative to traditional ribs. Cheap, easy to make, and SO good, this might just be your new favorite way to eat pork.

Provided by Tracy

Categories     Dinner

Time 3h15m

Number Of Ingredients 6

Foil
Roasting pan (or rimmed baking sheet)
Silicone basting brush (optional)
Country-style pork ribs*
Salt and pepper
Your favorite BBQ sauce

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F. Salt and pepper both sides of your ribs and place in a single layer in your pan, fattier side up.
  • Cover the pan tightly with foil and bake for 2 hours. Carefully (steam and liquid in the tray will be hot!) remove ribs from the oven and check the meat. They should be starting to become tender. If they still feel tough, re-cover them and place them back in the oven for 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Transfer ribs to a plate and drain liquid from the pan. Return ribs to tray and brush with a generous coating of BBQ sauce.
  • Turn oven down to 275°F and bake ribs, uncovered, for 1 hour more, or until you can pull the meat apart with a fork (if your ribs were small and already pretty tender when you put them back in the oven, start checking after 20 minutes). Brush with another coat of BBQ sauce, rest for 5 minutes, serve and enjoy!
