Time 1h

Yield 15 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 (14 3/4 ounce) cans pink salmon
4 large eggs
1 large cups seasoned bread crumbs
1/2 large onion, chopped
1 teaspoon lemon juice
pepper & season salt (optional)

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 350'. Drain juice out of canned salmon. Make sure all off the bones are removed. Go ahead & crumble the salmon up. Add eggs, bread crumbs, onions * lemon juice. Add seasoning to taste. I like to use pepper & season salt. I sometimes use garlic salt & garlic pepper since I love garlic so much. Then just make your patties & place on pan. Place in oven for about 45 minute or until golden brown. Enjoy.
  • Note: You can flip salmon patties to brown on both sides.

SIMPLE SALMON PATTIES RECIPE (HOW TO MAKE SALMON PATTIES)

Simple Salmon Patties Recipe (How to Make Salmon Patties) image

Wondering how to make salmon patties? These salmon cakes are so tender and flakey on the inside, but crispy and perfect on the outside. Use up that leftover salmon with this healthy dinner idea!

Provided by Emily Richter

Categories     Lunch and Dinner

Time 25m

Number Of Ingredients 13

1 lb. cooked salmon (chilled and flaked (~4 cups shredded salmon)*)
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 red bell pepper (finely diced)
1/2 small white onion (minced)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 large egg
1 tablespoon mayonaisse
1 teaspoon tabasco sauce
3 tablespoons olive oil (divided)

Steps:

  • First, remove the skin from your salmon and discard. Then, place salmon into a large bowl and use a spoon to break the salmon up into small shredded chunks.
  • Next, add the breadcrumbs, bell pepper, white onion, parsley, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, paprika, egg, mayo, tabasco, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the bowl.
  • Using a spoon or hands, mix all of the ingredients together until the ingredients stick together and form a ball. Form the salmon patties by using a 1/3 cup scoop and make 10-12 small balls out of the salmon mixture. After all the balls are formed, carefully make patties out of each ball by gently patting them down between your hands. Set them on a plate and repeat until all the patties are made.
  • Next, heat a large skillet over medium/high heat. Add one tablespoon of olive oil to the pan. When the olive oil is fragrant, add 3-4 patties to the pan (if there is room) and cook them for 2-3 minutes on each side or until the salmon patties brown. Remove from heat. Add another tablespoon of olive oil and repeat until all the patties are cooked.
  • Enjoy them alone, on top of a salad, or get creative!

SALMON DROPS OR SALMON PATTIES

Salmon Drops or Salmon Patties image

This Southeastern recipe can be made in a snap and tastes great. This is the type of patty often served in inexpensive Southern restaurants in the WV, MD, PA area. The best salmon to use is wild Pacific or wild Alaskan, red sockeye or else pink salmon. The best egg is a local farm egg from free range, uncaged hens or an omega 3 egg or organic egg. Low sodium Featherweight baking powder works well. One can try nongluten flour or a nonwheat flour like barley flour or oat flour if one is allergic to wheat. Oil, if used, should be extra virgin coconut oil or olive oil or nonrancid canola oil. Patties can be fried in a nonstick skillet with or without a little broth. Enjoy!

  • Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium-medium low heat. Add some of the patties to the hot skillet (don’t crowd the pan - you want at least an inch between patties). It it seems like the patties are browning too quickly, reduce the heat. Cook 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy on both sides. Transfer to a paper towel lined plate to drain. Repeat until all patties are cooked through.
