Ruby's Cheese Tidbits image

This is another of my Aunt Ruby's recipes. One of my absolute favorites !!! Just a note, originally the amount of cheese was incorrect. Instead of 1/2 cup it should have said 1 and 1/2 cups.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup butter
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 1/2 cups grated extra-sharp cheddar cheese
2 cups plain flour
2 cups Rice Krispies

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F.
  • Cream butter and cheese.
  • Add salt, pepper and flour to butter mixture.
  • Mixing briefly with a mixer.
  • Work in Rice Krispies either with the mixer or by hand.
  • Form into small balls(about the size of an olive), placing on a cookie sheet.
  • Flatten each ball with a fork (pressing the fork into the cookie, pulling across-- making little ridges).
  • Keep the fork clean by dipping in flour, if necessary.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes.

This is an old family favorite recipe prepared every Christmas, and I wanna tell ya it's GREAT! It is from the kitchen of my mother, Charlene Betty Stephenson. Thanks Mom!

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 (3 ounce) package raspberry flavored Jell-O® mix
2 cups boiling water
1 (10 ounce) package frozen raspberries
1 pint sour cream
1 (3 ounce) package cherry flavored Jell-O®
1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1 (16 ounce) can whole cranberry sauce

Steps:

  • Dissolve raspberry gelatin in 1 cup hot water. Add frozen raspberries, and stir until well mixed. Pour into a glass bowl. Refrigerate until almost firm, about 30 to 60 minutes..
  • Spread sour cream over firm gelatin. Refrigerate.
  • Dissolve cherry gelatin in 1 cup hot water. Stir in crushed pineapple and cranberry sauce. Chill until partially set, about 20 to 40 minutes.
  • Spoon cherry gelatin mixture over sour cream layer. Chill until firm, another hour or two.

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 cups Rice Krispies
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Combine cheese with oil, add flour and Worcestershire sauce and Rice Krispies.
  • Form into small balls (size of a walnut) and place on grease cookie sheet.
  • Flatten each ball with a fork.
  • Bake 10 minutes in 350f oven.
  • Can be served hot or cold.

Snack on these tasty sausage links wrapped in a savory Cheddar cheese biscuit.

1 (12 ounce) package Bob Evans® Original Sausage Links
2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup butter or margarine, melted
½ teaspoon paprika
⅛ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Cook sausage in medium skillet until no longer pink in the center. Drain on paper towels. Cut each link into 4 equal pieces. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. To prepare dough, combine cheese, flour, butter, paprika and salt; mix well. Wrap rounded teaspoon of dough around each piece of sausage, rolling dough in palms to form a ball. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until slightly browned. Serve hot. Refrigerate leftovers. Serve with mustard or Ranch dressing for dipping.
