These raisin cookies are soft and spicy. A wonderful winter snack.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium bowl, cream the shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs, mix well. Sift together the flour, cinnamon and baking soda; stir into the creamed mixture. Finally, stir in the milk and the raisins.
- Drop dough by rounded spoonfuls onto an unprepared cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from baking sheet to cool on wire racks.

- In a small saucepan, combine raisins and water; bring to a boil. Drain; reserve 1 cup liquid and set raisins aside. , In a bowl, cream shortening and sugar; add eggs. Add baking soda to raisin liquid. Sift together flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt; add alternately with raisin liquid to creamed mixture. Stir in raisins and nuts. Spread in a lightly greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. , Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes. If desired, glaze with confectioners' sugar icing while hot. Cut while warm.

- In a small bowl, combine the eggs, vanilla extract, almond extract and raisins. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon; stir into the sugar mixture. Mix in the raisin mixture until well blended. Stir in oats. Roll into 1 inch balls and place them 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

- Combine raisins and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil and cook for three minutes.
- Remove from the heat and let cool but do not drain.
- In a mixing bowl, cream shortening or butter with sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- Mix dry ingredients together and gradually add to creamed mixture.
- Blend thoroughly.
- Stir in nuts and raisins, along with the water the raisins were boiled inches.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
- Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes.
