This is my husbands favorite Pork recipe. It's super simple but the outcome is sophisticated enough for guests.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
4 ounces fresh mushrooms or 1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup sliced green onion, use white and green
1 lb pork tenderloin steak, cut around 3/4-inch thick
1/4 cup madeira wine (I use the broth) or 1/4 cup beef broth (I use the broth)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add mushrooms and green onions, cook 2-3 minutes until tender. Season meat with salt and pepper; add to skillet and cook until browned; turning once.
  • Pour in wine or broth, 1/4 c water and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Reduce heat and simmer until pork is tender, about 10 minutes Remove pork to platter.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in 1T water; stir into sauce in skillet. Increase heat to med. and stir until thickened, about 3 minutes Pour over pork and serve.
