Steps:
- Measure the rice and water into a blender. Add 4 cups (950 mL) of water and 1 cup (200 grams) of cooked white rice into your blender. For the purest rice milk, use filtered water, as this has very few added chemicals or minerals in it. Both a food processor or a smoothie maker will work for making rice milk. The more powerful your blender is - the smoother your rice milk will be.
- Blend the ingredients for 1 minute. Turn the blender onto the highest setting and wait 1 minute for it to blend the rice and water into a smooth liquid. If the liquid is still a little lumpy after 1 minute, blend it for another minute or until it is smooth. Avoid using other kitchen appliances while you are using the blender, as the high wattage required can cause a fuse to blow in your multi-box.
- Store the milk in your fridge and stir it before you drink it. Rice milk tends to taste best cool; however, it can also be enjoyed straight from the blender. If you want cool milk, leave it in the fridge for 30 minutes. Stir the milk vigorously before you drink it to ensure that the water and blended rice are fully combined. Keep the milk for up to 5 days.

Steps:
- Soak rice in 2 cups (amount as original recipe is written // adjust if altering batch size) very hot (not boiling water) for 2 hours. The rice should be soft but still very raw - you should be able to snap a piece in half with your fingernail without much effort. Drain and add to a high-speed blender.
- Add water, salt, and any additional add-ins (optional). Top with lid and cover with a towel to ensure it doesn't splash. Blend for about 1 minute until the date specks are very small and the mixture seems well combined. It doesn't have to be 100% pulverized.
- Scoop out a small sample with a spoon to test sweetness. If it's not sweet enough, add more dates.
- Pour the mixture over a large mixing bowl or pitcher covered with a thin towel, clean T-shirt, or very tightly woven nut milk bag. In my experience, it benefits from a double strain. Some nut milk bags let too much residue through.
- Transfer to a sealed container and refrigerate. Will keep in the refrigerator up to 5 days (sometimes more). Great for use in things like smoothies, granola, vegan cheese sauces, and baked goods!

- METHOD 1: Thoroughly rinse the uncooked rice and then soak in water for about 30 minutes. Drain the water and use. This rice water method is recommended for external use only.
- METHOD 2: Rinse the rice thoroughly and then boil for about 15 minutes. Use twice the amount of cooking water as usual. Drain the excess cooking water, cool to room temperature and dilute until it is slightly cloudy. Use this method when a home remedy for gastroenteritis is needed immediately.
- METHOD 3: Rinse rice thoroughly and soak 8 hours or overnight in a pot with 6 parts water to one part rice. Drain, rinse again, and then simmer the rice in 8 parts water to one part rice until the rice is very, very soft or even dissolves. Any remaining rice is then blended into the cooking water. This method is ideal for making rice water as a beverage.
- METHOD 4: Culture the rice water post cooking via method 3 above into fermented rice milk. See links to recipes below.

- Note* For this recipe I'll assume you already have cooked rice. If not, simply cook it according to the package instructions.
- Use one cup of cooked rice and add it to a high-speed food processor/blender. Add the cups of water and blend.
- Begin by blending for around 20 seconds, stop and check the consistency. Blend for longer if required. I prefer my rice milk to be light so blend it for a minimal time. This means there's a lot of leftover rice pulp and it's fairly thin. However, for a creamy version then you can blend your rice milk for between 1-2 minutes. *
- I use my NutraMilk processor, which allows me to drain the liquid directly into a bottle while keeping any rice leftovers in the jug. When using a regular blender/food processor, after blending the rice with water, strain the milk into a bowl through a nut milk bag and squeeze gently to get all the milk out.
