SOUTHERN SWEET ICED TEA
This is how my Granny made sweet tea and it is some kind of sweet. Know that and beware. Pa-Paw used to down 2-3 glasses after working in the garden all day. Back off the sugar if you can't handle it. This one is for true southerners only ;)

Steps:
- For the best flavor, if you're using tea bags, snip off the corners and dump the loose tea into your pitcher. Or, just put the whole bags in the pitcher for tea that is *almost* as awesome and way easier to make. Pour in room temperature or cold water.
- Cover the pitcher and refrigerate. Steep white or green tea for 6 to 8 hours; steep black or oolong tea for 8 to 12 hours.
- Once your time is up, strain the loose-leaf tea out of the pitcher by pouring the tea through a fine mesh sieve (for best results, cover the sieve with a cheesecloth or paint-straining bag used exclusively for food products) or just pull out the tea bags. Discard the tea or tea bags.
- Serve tea as is or with any add-ins of your choice. Tea will keep well, covered and refrigerated, for 3 to 5 days.

- Add water to a large container, along with tea bags. If desired, add in raspberries, mint, lemon, peaches, etc for flavoring.
- If you like your tea sweet, I suggest adding a simple syrup or stevia drops. Granulated sugar/sweetener will not dissolve easily in cold tea.

- Trim off the leafy stems of strawberries and slice them into thin slices, about 1/8 - 3/16 inch thick. Place them in a clean container and add sugar. Toss the strawberry slices with sugar, and then cover the container and refrigerate overnight or for at least 10-12 hours.
- Put the black tea in the cold brew pot, and then add filtered water. Place the pot in the refrigerator and steep overnight or for at least 12 hours.
- When you want to serve the drink, divide the strawberry slices along with the syrup-like liquid (which is the result of marinating the strawberries in sugar) among serving glasses, about 1/2 cup. Add ice cubes, about 1/2 - 2/3 cup of ice. Then add about 3/4 cup of the brewed black tea (180ml), more or less tea to taste. Place a sprig of mints in each glass and serve right away.
