Steps:
- Dissolve cinnamon candies in water in a saucepan over medium heat. Mix in gelatin and allow to dissolve; remove from heat and stir applesauce into mixture. Pour into a serving dish and refrigerate until set, about 2 hours.

CINNAMON JELLO (RED HOTS SALAD)
An old unique recipe that just has to make an appearance every year at the Christmas Eve table. It is a great sweet side dish that has such a wonderful flavor.

Steps:
- Place water and red hots into a medium size pan. Whisk water and red hots constantly over medium heat till red hots are completely dissolved (remember to keep whisking because red hots like to stick at the bottom of pan). Bring to a boil and add jello; stir to dissolve 2 minutes. Take off heat and add applesauce. Pour mixture into a 8x8 inch glass baking dish or medium size glass bowl. Chill 4-5 hours or till set. When jello has set, beat heavy cream with mixer till almost stiff. Add sugar and vanilla and beat till stiff. Top jello with whipped cream and serve.

My grandma made this for EVERY family get together. She's gone now but the recipe lives on. It sounds weird but it's actually very refreshing. Anyway, wanted to put it on here for safe keeping.

This is a lovely layered salad to make during the holidays. You can also swirl the cream cheese mixture though the partially set jello mixture rather than using the layer method. This comes from my Beth Bowen's Favorites.

Steps:
- Dissolve red hots and lemon jello in hot water.
- Add applesauce and divide into 2 equal parts; put one part in an oiled jello mold or 13x9 pan.
- Cool until set, keep second half of jello mix at room temperature.
- Combine remaining ingredients and spread over jello that has set up.
- Top with room temperture jello mixture; return to refrigerator to set until firm.
- Unmold or cut in squares.
- If you use the swirl method, add entire jello mix to 13x9 pan, partially set, then swirl through the cheese mixture and return to refrigerator to set firm.

This is especially nice to serve guests on Holidays. Good with pork,ham or poultry... and looks so pretty. I have made this many times, and always get compliments. A friends recipe from 50's or 60's.

- 1. Combine boiling water with cinnamon candies in a saucepan, stir over low heat to dissolve candies. remove from heat stir in gelatin. Blend in applesauce. Pour half of mixture into a 2 quart mold or an 8 inch square pan. Chill until firm. Blend softened cream cheese with mayonnaise, add chopped nuts, and or chopped celery. Spread cream cheese mixture over chilled mixture. Pour remaining gelatin mixture over cream cheese mixture. Chill all several hours till firm.

- In a small pan, bring water to a boil. Add the Red Hots candies. Reduce heat to low and stir until the candies are dissolved and become cinnamon water. Add the JELL-O, stirring until dissolved, approximately 2 minutes.
- In large bowl, combine cream cheese, marshmallows, and whipping cream, stirring together until marshmallows are submerged. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in refrigerator until the above Jell-O mixture is set. The topping can also be made right before you are ready to serve JELL-O.
