Ranch Pasta Salad with Peas image

This is a pasta salad with fresh veggies and ranch seasoning. It's served cold. I like to put my salad in a temp-tations® ceramic bowl because it chills nicely, plus I can basically do my prep and serve in the same bowl.

1 (16 ounce) package pasta shells
¼ cup frozen peas
¼ cup mayonnaise (such as Kraft®), or more to taste
1 (3.75 ounce) package ranch seasoning mix
¼ cup finely chopped onion
¼ cup finely chopped red bell pepper
¼ cup finely chopped celery
¼ cup finely chopped cooked bacon
⅛ cup shredded carrots

Steps:

  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil. Stir in pasta shells and return to a boil. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until tender yet firm to the bite, 8 to 9 minutes.
  • Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add peas, cover, and steam until tender, 2 to 6 minutes.
  • Drain pasta and place in a large bowl. Add mayonnaise and mix well. Add ranch packet and mix again. Stir in the peas, onion, bell pepper, celery, bacon, and carrots to combine. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.

1 box (12 oz.) small shell pasta
1 c frozen english peas, thawed
1 medium carrot, peeled and grated
1 small tomato, seeded and diced
12 oz bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 1/2 c mayonaise
1 pkg ranch dressing mix

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients together and lightly tossed until thoroughly combined.
  • 2. Chill for 2 hours or more before serving.

This easy salad came about in an attempt to satisfy my son who loves peas and my husband who doesn't. It has become a huge hit. You may want to double the recipe if you want any leftovers!

4 slices bacon
1 quart water
1 (16 ounce) package frozen green peas
⅓ cup chopped onions
½ cup Ranch dressing
½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Place bacon in a skillet over medium-high heat, and cook until evenly brown. Drain, crumble, and set aside.
  • Bring the water to a boil in a pot. Boil the peas 1 minute, until just tender, and drain. Cool peas under cold running water.
  • In a bowl, toss together bacon, peas, onion, Ranch dressing, and Cheddar cheese. Refrigerate 30 minutes or until chilled before serving.
