Easy homemade Ranch Dressing made with buttermilk, mayo, Greek yogurt and fresh or dried herbs. Like most things, it definitely tastes better from scratch!

1 cup Real mayonnaise
1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
½ tsp white vinegar
¼ cup fresh chopped parsley ((or 1/2 tsp dried parsley))
2 Tbsp fresh Chives (, or ½ tsp dried)
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
1 clove garlic (, minced)
1/8 teaspoon paprika
Freshly cracker Salt and pepper (, to taste)
¼ - ½ cup Buttermilk (, as needed to desired consistency)

Steps:

  • In a medium sized bowl whisk together the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt (or sour cream), vinegar and seasonings.
  • Whisk in the buttermilk until desired consistency for dipping or dressing.
  • For best flavor, refrigerate for at least one hour before serving. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

12 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup buttermilk, well shaken
One 1-ounce package ranch dressing mix, such as Hidden Valley
16 ounces Cheddar cheese, grated, room temperature
1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
Crackers or bagel chips, for serving

Steps:

  • In a stand mixer, beat together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, buttermilk and dressing mix. Add the Cheddar cheese and continue beating until thoroughly blended. Wrap the mixture in plastic wrap and place it in the freezer for 30 minutes. When firm, shape the wrapped cheese mixture into a log. Spread the pecans out on a baking sheet or a piece of wax paper. Unwrap the cheese log and roll it in the nuts to coat it on all sides. Serve with crackers or bagel chips.

This is the quickest and easiest appetizer I know of. It takes only minutes to make and can be served almost immediately. You can keep the ingredients on hand for months. Serve with buttery crackers.

1 tablespoon sour cream
1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix (such as Hidden Valley Ranch ®)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
½ pound Cheddar cheese, shredded
¼ cup finely chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Mix the sour cream with ranch dressing mix in a bowl until smoothly combined. Add the cream cheese and Cheddar cheese to the bowl, and mix together with your hands until thoroughly blended. Chill the mixture for 5 minutes, then shape into a ball.
  • Place the pecans into a shallow bowl, and roll all sides of the cheese ball in the pecans to coat. Serve immediately.
