Yield Makes 20

Number Of Ingredients 2

20 radishes, cleaned and trimmed
10 small pimento-stuffed olives, halved crosswise

Steps:

  • Using a paring knife, scrape off most of the red skin from the radish, leaving just enough red to give the radish a veined appearance. Rinse radishes.
  • Using a very small melon baller, cut a small hole in the stem end of each radish. Insert an olive half, cut side out, into each hole; serve.

BLOODY EYEBALLS (DRINK)

Bloody Eyeballs (drink) image

"The eyes have it" in this recipe. Start a day ahead by making the "eyeballs", then just combine the rest and you're ready to scare up some fun! This drink can be made non-alcoholic by skipping the vodka or tequila.

Provided by EdsGirlAngie

Categories     Beverages

Time 8h

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 radish
1 pimento stuffed olive
1 1/2 ounces vodka or 1 1/2 ounces tequila (optional)
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon horseradish
salt and pepper
Tabasco sauce
V8 vegetable juice, to fill glass
lemon wedges or lime wedge

Steps:

  • Prepare ice"eyeballs" the day before you plan on serving.
  • Peel radishes, leaving thin streaks of red skin on to represent"blood vessels".
  • Using tip of a vegetable peeler or a small knife, carefully scoop out a small hole in each radish, about the size of an olive.
  • Stuff a green olive, pimiento side out, in each hole.
  • Place 1 radish"eyeball" in each section of an empty ice cube tray.
  • Trim radishes down to fit in trays, if necessary.
  • Fill tray with water and freeze overnight.
  • To make drink, fill a tall cocktail glass with 3 or 4 eyeball ice cubes, add ingredients in the order given and shake or stir.
  • You can create a salt rim on the glasses by running a piece of lemon or lime around the rim then dipping it in a small dish of salt.

12 CREEPY COCKTAIL GARNISHES - THE SPRUCE EATS

From thespruceeats.com
Estimated Reading Time 8 mins
  • Lychee Eyeball. On its own, the eyeball is a little bit creepy and it makes a great Halloween garnish for a variety of drinks. There are many ways to construct edible eyeballs and which you choose is going to depend on the style of drink you're serving.
  • Radish Eyeball. For savory drinks like a bloody Mary, a radish eyeball may be more appropriate. You'll need a radish and a green olive to create one garnish—use regular jarred olives, which are smaller than gourmet olives and a better fit for medium-sized radishes.
  • Carving. Take your pumpkin carving skills to a smaller scale by carving your garnish. This is a neat little trick that can go with almost any cocktail.
  • Pumpkin Top. This is a clever and easy garnish that can be used in a multitude of drinks. It's particularly neat on top of drinks with a concentration of orange juice, like this jack o'lantern cocktail.
  • Colored Sugar Rim. Drinks that call for a sugar rim and those that could be enhanced with one, can be transformed into a slightly creepier version for Halloween.
  • Dripping Blood. A very easy way to add a bloody effect to any drink is to drizzle a red syrupy liquid over the cocktail. The vampire's kiss cocktail is a perfect example and the grenadine is striking against the green glow of the Midori-based drink.
  • Spider Webs. Depending on your approach, this is probably the most difficult garnish to pull off. However, if you can get the technique down, your drinks will be stellar.
  • Illumination. This "garnish" is so simple, but it's very effective. Essentially, for drinks like the Halloween Hpnotist, you're just adding a glow stick.
  • Fog. Dry ice adds a foggy atmosphere to the party and is perfect for use on a drink table or display. A classic way to incorporate dry ice is to use it under a punch bowl illuminated by black lights.
  • Fire. The disclaimer first: Do not play with fire if you've been drinking! Also, be very careful anytime you light a drink on fire and be aware of surroundings, people, and other flammables nearby (Halloween costumes are very flammable).
