QUICK AND EASY PIGS IN A BLANKET
It doesn't take much to get these pigs all cozy and tucked in. Crescent roll dough does the trick. To change things up, try switching between regular hot dogs and more gourmet sausage varieties.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven 400 degrees F. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it along the perforations to form individual triangles. Place a hot dog on the wide end of each triangle and roll up the dough around it like a crescent roll, pressing the point of the short end to seal the dough. Place the pigs in a blanket on an ungreased baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake at 400 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until the dough is golden brown. Serve the pigs in a blanket immediately with ketchup, mustard, or cheese sauce for dipping.

Kids love this one. My mom made it for me as did her mom. If making for a small child, cut the hot dogs into fourths length wise. The cheese is always optional.

- Wrap cheese around each frankfurter then the biscuit around that. Put on cookie sheet with the overlap of biscuit faced down, so you don't have to use tooth picks.

Pigs in a Blanket were a natural choice for serving at my farm animal them meal. I filled the hot dogs with cheese and wrapped them in a light dough to make them special. They are tasty, fun and handy to eat.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in milk and water; let stand for 5 minutes. Add the egg, shortening, salt, remaining sugar and enough flour to form a soft dough. , Turn onto a floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. , Cut a 1/4-in.-deep lengthwise slit in each hot dog. Cut cheese slices into five strips; place one strip in a slit of each hot dog., Punch dough down; divide into 10 portions. Roll each into a 5-in. x 2-1/2-in. rectangle and wrap around prepared hot dogs; pinch seam and ends to seal. , Place seam side down on greased baking sheets; let rise for 30 minutes. Bake at 350° for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.

Steps:
- Brown meat and onions, stir in rice, salt and pepper.
- Remove outer leaves from around cabbage and cut out the hard stalk from the end of the cabbage.
- Put cabbage into boiling water, steam cabbage for 10 minutes or until the leaves are softened enough to peel away.
- Cool and separate cabbage leaves, gently shake off moisture, and set aside.
- Place just enough cabbage leaves on the bottom of your 9" x 13" x 2" baking dish to cover bottom.
- Peel off each cabbage leaf separately and place into middle one rounded Tbls. of the meat mixture.
- Fold the two ends of the leaf inwards and roll it up into a narrow sausage shape.
- Place into bottom of greased 9" x 13" x 2" baking dish.
- Heat tomato soup and water until it boils. Pour over all ingredients.
- Sprinkle with American or cheddar cheese. Cover with foil & bake for 1-1/2 hrs @ 350 degrees.
