No-Bake Chocolate-Pretzel-Peanut Butter Squares image

1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons) butter, melted
2 cups pretzel rods, crushed into crumbs
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 cup plus 1/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, add the melted butter, pretzel crumbs, confectioners' sugar and 1 cup of the peanut butter and stir together until well combined. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of an ungreased 9-by-13-by-2-inch baking dish. Combine the chocolate chips and the remaining 1/4 cup peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate and peanut butter are melted and smooth; two intervals should be enough. Mix to blend, then spread over the peanut butter-pretzel layer. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into squares.

Steps:

  • In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the sugar and corn syrup.
  • Microwave on high for 3 minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
  • Stir in peanut butter until blended.
  • Add the cereal, pretzels and M&Ms; stir until coated.
  • Press into a greased 15x10 inch pan.
  • Cut into bars.

5 teaspoons active dry yeast
4 cups all-purpose flour
¼ cup melted butter
1 teaspoon coarse salt
1 egg, beaten
coarse salt to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
  • Mix water and sugar together in a bowl until sugar is dissolved; add yeast. Let mixture stand until the yeast softens and begins to form a creamy foam, about 5 minutes.
  • Whisk flour, butter, and salt together in a bowl until well mixed; add yeast mixture and stir with a fork until dough starts to cling. Turn dough onto a floured work surface and knead until smooth.
  • Cut dough into 15 equal pieces and roll each piece between your hands into rope shapes at least the thickness of a pencil. Twist dough into desired shapes and arrange on a baking sheet; brush with egg and sprinkle coarse salt over each.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until pretzels are browned and cooked through, 8 to 12 minutes.

3/4 cup salted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
2 tbsp water
1 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
10 oz chocolate candiquick (or similar baking chocolate)
additional pretzels, optional, for top of bars

Steps:

  • 1. Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil that extends up the sides of the pan.
  • 2. Mix together chocolate hazelnut spread and butter in a large bowl until smooth.
  • 3. Add powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
  • 4. Add 2 tbsp of water, if needed, to help mixture come together.
  • 5. Carefully stir in crushed pretzels.
  • 6. Press mixture into the bottom of the 9×13 pan.
  • 7. Melt chocolate candiquick and spread evenly over mixture.
  • 8. Working quickly so that the chocolate doesn't harden, press pretzels into the top of the chocolate.
  • 9. Once chocolate has hardened, use the parchment paper/aluminum foil to lift out of the pan. Cut into bars.

12 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 cup confectioners' sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
About 1 1/2 cups pretzel sticks

Steps:

  • Line an 8- or 9- inch square baking pan with foil.
  • Melt 8 tablespoons of the butter and add to a large bowl. Add the graham cracker crumbs, sugar, vanilla and 1 cup of peanut butter and stir until well combined. Transfer the peanut butter mixture to the prepared baking pan and smooth with an offset spatula to create an even layer.
  • Combine the chocolate chips, the remaining 4 tablespoons butter and the remaining tablespoon peanut butter in a medium microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted. Alternatively, this can be done over a double boiler. Pour the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter and smooth with an offset spatula. Arrange the pretzel sticks on the surface of the chocolate, pressing them lightly to adhere. Refrigerate until hardened, about 1 1/2 hours. Cut into squares to serve.

Steps:

  • Cook corn syrup and sugar together in a large saucepan over medium heat, stirring to dissolve sugar. Bring mixture to a boil. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter; mix well. Add pretzels and cereal; stir until evenly coated.
  • Pour into greased 13x9-inch pan and pat into place.
  • Melt chocolate and peanut butter chips together in saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Spread over cereal. Top with sprinkles, if desired.
