EASY BEER BREAD
An awesome tasting and super simple recipe for beer bread. Mixes in one bowl and makes a lovely rustic and flavorful bread. So far I've only used lighter beer (Blue Moon Belgian White specifically) but am definitely going to be experimenting more with other types of beer (especially Guinness), as well as herb combinations. There's no need to let this mix rise either, perfect for when you're in a bit of time pinch. This recipe makes one standard sized loaf.

QUICK AND EASY BEER BREAD
This recipe was given to me by an Irish friend whom I met when we were living in Germany (the Irish and German factor explains the 'beer' ingredient). Very quick and easy to make - just mix the ingredients and put straight in the oven. My friend noted that dark beer works best. I like to sprinkle white and black sesame seeds on the bread, as it gives it that extra taste.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375F. Spray a 9x5 loaf pan lightly and line with a piece of parchment paper.
- When the oven has come to temperature, measure the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl and whisk well to combine. Break up any lumps in your brown sugar.
- Add the beer to the bowl and whisk or stir to combine. Mix just enough to combine everything and there is no dry flour left. Don't worry about lumps.
- Turn the batter into your loaf pan and spread out the top so the batter is even from end to end.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out without wet batter on it (moist crumbs are fine.)
- Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then remove to a rack to cool.
- I like to slice the bread while it is still warm, but don't slice it until you are ready to eat.

- In a large mixing bowl, stir together the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder (if using).
- Slowly pour in the beer, then add the honey. With a rubber spatula, stir gently, until the foaming subsides and you no longer see dry bits of flour. The batter will be very stiff. Gently fold in any desired mix-ins. Don’t over mix; as soon as the flour disappears it is good to go.
- Spread the batter into an even layer in the prepared loaf pan, then drizzle the melted butter on top and brush to spread it evenly over the batter. Bake for 38 to 42 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean (I like to use an instant read thermometer. When the bread reaches 200 degrees F in the center, it is done).

- Pour the batter into a loaf pan that is lined with parchment paper. I like to use chip clips (binder clips or clothespins also work) while pouring the batter into the pan to keep the paper from folding into the batter while you are pouring it. (Just remove the clips before putting the pan in the oven.)

- Prepare the bread pan. Spray an 8 x 5 inch loaf pan with cooking spray. Cut a piece of parchment paper the width of the loaf pan. (I like it to be long enough to fit down the middle of the pan, and up the sides with a little extra on each side. See Video.) Spay over the parchment paper with cooking spray.
- Mix the bread. In a medium bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Add the beer and mix until combined. You do not want to over mix the dough.
- Add the dough to the prepared bread pan. You may need to gently push it to the edges of the pan. The top does not need to be smooth. Pour melted butter over the dough.
