Crab Stuffed Mushrooms are the perfect easy appetizer to serve at your next party. They are simple to make, but impressive enough to serve guests.

24 large mushrooms
12 ounces lump crab meat
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1/4 cup melted salted butter
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
2 teaspoon dijon mustard
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Remove stems from mushrooms and place the caps into a lightly greased 9x13 pan.
  • Place lump crab meat into a large mixing bowl. Pour lemon juice over the top. Add in panko bread crumbs and stir together. Pour melted butter over mixture and add in parmesan cheese, dijon mustard, horseradish, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Scoop spoonfuls of crab mixture and place into the mushroom caps to fill all of them.
  • Bake in the preheated 375 degree oven for 15-20 minutes, or until mushrooms are tender. Remove from oven and serve while hot. Garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.

1½ lbs crab meat
10 piquante peppers (chopped)
½ cup mayonnaise (any variety)
2 green onions (cut into finely sliced rounds)
1 tablespoon fresh chives (chopped)
2 tablespoons fresh parsley (finely chopped)
1 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
salt and pepper (to taste)
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • Mix all of the filling ingredients in a bowl and then fill the mushrooms with mounds of filling.
  • Sprinkle evenly with the Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake 20-30 until golden brown.

8 oz whole button mushrooms
1/2 c prepared crab dip (i use old home brand)
1/2 c shredded paremesan cheese
2 Tbsp chives or green onions, diced

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2. Remove the stems form the Mushroom Caps and save for another use. Brush off any dirt from the Mushrooms
  • 3. In a small bowl combine the Crab Dip and Parmesan Cheese. Stir together well. This is our filling.
  • 4. Place the Mushroom Caps in a 6 x 9 baking dish. If your Mushroom Caps are a bit larger you may need to go up a pan size.
  • 5. Fill each Mushroom Cap with the filling.
  • 6. Sprinkle the tops of each Mushroom with the Chives or Green Onions. In these pictures I used Chives because I had them in my garden. Green Onions can also be used.
  • 7. Bake the Mushrooms in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20-30 minutes. All ovens cook differently so check at 15 minutes. You are looking for the Mushrooms to be cooked and the top to turn slightly brown as you can see in this picture.
  • 8. When the Mushrooms are done, remove from oven and transfer to a serving plate.

This is a delicious,cheap,easy and you can prepare this ahead of time... AWESOME . When we get our limit for the day, and have extra after the feast, I prepare this (either the 'stuffing' or the stuffed mushrooms) easily. Set it in the fridge overnight. It's super simple/cheap (requirements) and very impressive. If you can get out and catch your own crab..it makes this a very cheap dish.

24 -36 white button mushrooms, depending on the size
1/2 cup green onion, finely chopped
2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Club House parmesan and herbs
1/3 margarine
1/3 cup cream cheese
1 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups crab
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
1/2 cup mushroom, from the stems (optional)
1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs

Steps:

  • Wash and take the stems out of the mushrooms,set aside.
  • Combine green onions,garlic,margarine,cream cheese, and seasoning in a bowl and microwave on high for 1 min, stir, microwave again for 1 minute.
  • Stir and add crab, mushrooms and parmesan.
  • At this point, the mixture should be fairly thick,(and not too buttery, you'll be able to tell if you see it on the edges of the bowl -- if you see 'too much' add some bread crumbs for a better outcome) You want a thick porridge like consistency at this point.
  • You could now store this mixture or if you had stuffed the mushrooms -- they can be refrigerated and heated and served the next day.
  • Stuff mushroom caps and top with additional sprinkle of bread crumbs and/or cheese, if desired.
  • Heat at 375 for 10-20 mins, or until bubbling hot.
  • Let rest for about 5-10 mins coz the fillings are gonna be HOT!
  • The reason this recipe is so easy is because steps can be done ahead of time and it's still turns out delicious every single time we do this. Oh -- and it's SOOOO versatile -- got one ingredient but not other? -- change it -- it's still great :).

If using canned, be sure to rinse it first.

3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
¼ teaspoon paprika

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a medium bowl, combine crabmeat, green onions, herbs, and pepper. Mix in mayonnaise and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese until well combined. Refrigerate filling until ready for use.
  • Wipe the mushrooms clean with a damp towel. Remove stems. Spoon out the gills and the base of the stem, making deep cups. Discard gills and stems. 1 lb cremini or button mushrooms (16-20 medium to large mushrooms)
½ c cream cheese (at room temperature)
2 tbsp mayonnaise (or plain full fat greek yogurt)
1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
1 tsp old bay seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp mustard powder
½ tsp kosher salt
6 tbsp panko breadcrumbs (divided)
6 tbsp grated parmesan cheese (divided)
8 oz crab meat (lump or back fin)
½ tbsp olive oil
fresh chopped parsley (to garnish)

Steps:

  • Heat the oven to 375°F. Lightly mist a casserole dish with olive oil cooking spray.
  • Remove the stems, then brush away any dirt using a damp towel. Arrange the mushrooms gill side up in the casserole dish.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, mayonnaise or greek yogurt, Worcestershire sauce, old bay, garlic powder, mustard powder, and salt; whisk until well combined. Add ¼ cup (4 tbsp) breadcrumbs and ¼ cup (4 tbsp) parmesan cheese and mix until well combined. Add the crab meat and fold in with a rubber spatula until just barely combined.
  • Stuff each mushroom with 1 heaping tablespoon of filling.
  • Combine the remaining breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese (2 tbsp each) with the ½ tbsp olive oil in a small bowl. Mix until evenly moistened. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the stuffed mushrooms.
  • Transfer to the oven and bake 25 minutes; turn on the broiler and cook 1-2 minutes more, or until the tops are lightly golden brown.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot, or room temperature.
