This easy dipping sauce tastes great with chicken balls, spring rolls, or dumplings.

½ cup rice wine vinegar

3 cloves minced garlic

Steps:

  • Whisk together the soy sauce, vinegar, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame seeds, sesame oil in a bowl.

After a meal at P.F. Chang's, I wanted to try a simple combination of spices to make their dipping sauce. Although not exactly the same, it still matched well with cold slices of cucumber =)

1 tablespoon chili paste (with seeds)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon wasabi
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar or 1 tablespoon black vinegar
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon green onion, grated

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a small saucer. Adjust the amount of each ingredient according to your preference for spiciness.
  • Use for dipping or as a dressing.

I found this wonderful sauce in the front section of Weber's Art of the Grill. It should be served warm and is wonderful on grilled chicken, especially wings.

3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1 scallion, chopped
1/2 cup chicken broth
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
3 teaspoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon dry sherry

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan, heat the oil. Add the ginger and scallions, cook 1 minute or until slightly browned.
  • Add chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, chili powder and red pepper. Bring to a boil.
  • Dissolve cornstarch in wine; add gradually to the liquid, stirring constantly until slightly thickened.
