Steps:
- Mix the beer, whiskey, salt, Tabasco sauce, and Worcestershire sauce together. Place possum in a large roasting pan. Sprinkle the celery, onions, and the garlic all over the possum. Pour the liquid mixture over the possum as well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place the sweet potatoes around the possum. Bake covered for 1 1/2 hours. Baste once or twice with the marinade from the pan as the possum cooks.

Steps:
- Skin and dress young possum, sprinkle with salt and pepper, worcestershire sauce and garlic salt and place into large stockpot or roasting pan.
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Put potatoes around possum and add 1 inch water.
- Completely cover pan with foil.
- Bake, covered, for 2 hours or till good and tender.
- Tastes like fresh pork.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, whip egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold in crackers, vanilla, sugar and nuts.
- Spread evenly into 9 inch pie pan. Bake at 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) for 20 minutes. Cool completely.
- Spread whipped topping over pie, then sprinkle with coconut.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 375.
- Skin and shuck all innards and wash yer possum.
- Put possum in a big sauce pot and cover with water.
- Add yer salt and yer pepper.
- Cover pot and cook until possum is tender.
- Place possum in center of large baking pan and place yer sweet taters around it.
- Sprinkle with yer white and brown sugars and oleo over taters.
- Pour 2 cups of yer juice from cooked possum over everything.
- Place in a hot oven and bake until taters are fork tender light brown, and juices from possum has cooked away.

Found a very old cook book in my mother-in-laws things. Holland's Cook Book copyright 1923. This is one of the interesting ones.

- 1. Pour a large kettleful of hot water into a convenient vessel, add a small shovelful of ashes and then put the 'possum in; turn the 'possum round until fur is loosened, and it can easily be scraped clean. Draw, remove head and feet, wash thoroughly; salt in and outside, let hang over night to freeze. Wash again and put in baking-pan with a little water; cover closely and put in oven to brown. Dust with pepper and baste frequently with dripping; have medium potatoes peeled and boiled tender in slightly salted water, adding butter and a little sugar. When tender, arrange potatoes around 'possum on hot platter with potatoes round him, and serve.
