HERBED BEER BREAD RECIPE
You are going to love this buttery, chewy bread! It will take about 5 minutes to mix and it is absolutely delicious warm from the oven. Enjoy it plain or try the Everything Bagel Seasoning and Cheddar variation.

- In a medium-sized bowl, combine all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt and thyme. Stir well.
- Add 1 can (355mL/1 and 1/2 cups) of room temperature beer and stir just until combined.

LEMON POPPY SEED BREAD
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F . Line the bottom of two 9-inch loaf pans with a piece of parchment or wax paper. Spray the sides of the pan lightly with cooking spray.
- Mix together flour, salt, baking powder and poppy seeds. In a separate bowl mix together the sugar, milk, eggs, lemon juice, lemon zest, oil, and vanilla.
- Add the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Divide batter evenly between the prepared pans.
- Bake for 50 minutes - 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack.

POPPY SEED BEER BREAD
I first had this recipe about 25 years ago the first time my older sister had a family dinner at her home when she was just out of college. I've tried another beer bread from this site, but I like this one better. It even got great reviews from my picky friend that doesn't like most beer breads. It also makes the most amazing grilled cheese sandwiches..just slice it thin after it's completely cooled. Based on results from a reviewer, I suggest you use a glass loaf pan or reduce the cooking time slightly if using metal.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix all ingredients except poppy seeds and sesame seeds.
- Carefully mix in 1 tbsp poppy seeds. Do not over mix.
- Spray loaf pan with cooking spray.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds evenly across the bottom of the loaf pan.
- Pour dough into loaf pan.
- Lightly sprinkle the top with poppy seeds & sesame seeds.
- Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- NOTE: Original recipe did not include the sesame seeds on the bottom of the loaf, but I like them. The original recipe also stated that sesame seeds could be used instead of poppy seeds mixed into the loaf & on top (eliminating the poppy seeds completely from the recipe).

Stir together until the mixture turns into a rough and shaggy dough. Then, use your hands to finish kneading all of the ingredients together. If needed, add a bit more water a tablespoon at a time to incorporate everything into a fairly moist dough (it should be neither dry nor sticky).
- Place the dough in a stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment and knead with the machine until you have a soft, fairly smooth, and more elastic dough.*** Shape into a ball with a smooth top and place in a bowl greased with cooking spray.**** Turn the dough over once to coat the top with spray as well. Cover with greased plastic wrap and allow to rise until doubled (1 1/2 - 2 hours).
