COFFEE COQUITO (PUERTO RICAN EGGNOG)

A coffee flavored twist on this classic Puerto Rican holiday beverage

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups pour over brewed coffee (cooled)
1 can evaporated milk
1 can cream of coconut (the sweet stuff you use for pina coladas)
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup Puerto Rican rum (light or dark) (you can add more or less, to your taste)

Steps:

  • Combine the coffee, milks and cream of coconut in a blender.
  • Add the cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. Blend to combine.
  • Add the rum (if desired). Refrigerate for 1 hour, to allow the flavors to blend.
  • Serve cold.

340 gramos de leche condensada
340 gramos de crema de coco
1 cucharadita de vainilla
4 huevos batidos
¼ cucharadita de canela en polvo
Ron blanco

Steps:

  • Hacer esta receta de ponche navideño puertorriqueño es sumamente sencillo, simplemente debes incorporar en la licuadora todos los ingredientes, menos el alcohol, y batir hasta conseguir que se integren por completo.
  • Lo que tienes en la licuadora es un ponche de Navidad de Puerto Rico que en este momento no lleva alcohol, así que puedes apartar un poco de esta bebida para los niños o para las personas que no tomen alcohol. Reserva esto en la nevera para servirlo bien frío.
  • En cuanto al resto, añade ron blanco hasta encontrar el punto que el ponche de Puerto Rico esté a tu gusto. Para estas medidas, nuestra recomendación es agregar entre 2 y 3 tazas de ron. Revuelve bien y lleva a la nevera hasta el momento de servir.

Two 15-ounce cans evaporated milk
One 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
One 10-ounce jar lemon curd
1 3/4 cups white rum
1/4 cup lime juice
1 tablespoon Angostura bitters

Steps:

  • Combine the evaporated and condensed milks, lemon curd, rum, lime juice and bitters in a blender and process until smooth, about 30 seconds. Using a funnel, pour into two 33 1/2-ounce bottles and cap tightly. This punch does not need to be refrigerated, but it is best served cold.

My version of this popular Puerto Rican eggnog is the most requested recipe among my friends, and it's legendary. It does take some working in putting it together but worth the wait. Also, diet, calories, etc., are out the window with this one! Serve over lots of ice and in small quantities, since it doesn't taste like eggnog and people tend to drink more than they realize! Store in a glass container in the refrigerator.

1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • Combine evaporated milk, cream of coconut, sweetened condensed milk, spiced rum, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon in a blender; you may need to do this in batches. Blend until thoroughly combined.
