MARLBORO MAN'S FAVORITE SANDWICH

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 whole large (or 2 small) onions
2 sticks butter (lots and lots of butter)
2 sticks butter (lots and lots of butter)
2 to 3 pounds cube steak (tenderized round steak that's been extra tenderized)
Seasoned salt, such as Lawry's seasoned salt (or similar seasoned salt)
1/2 cups (approximately) Worcestershire sauce
Hot sauce, such as Tabasco
4 whole French/deli rolls (Earthgrains are best!)

Steps:

  • Slice the onions and cook in 1/4 stick butter until soft and light brown. Remove and set aside.
  • Slice the cube steak against the grain. Sprinkle with seasoning salt.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons butter over high heat (in same skillet) until melted and beginning to brown. Add the meat in a single layer. Cook one side until brown, and then flip and cook until brown, about a minute on both sides.
  • Add 1/2 cup (at least) Worcestershire sauce, 5 to 6 shakes hot sauce and 2 tablespoons butter. Add the cooked onions. Stir to combine.
  • Butter the halved French rolls and brown in a skillet.
  • To assemble, lay the bottom half of a French roll on a plate. Place the meat mixture, followed by a spoonful of juice from the pan. Top with other half of roll, cut in half and devour!

2 -3 lbs cube steaks (tenderized round steak that's been extra-tenderized)

Mmmmm...this is it, folks: The Sandwich That Brings Me the Most Happiness in Life.

1 tbsp. Dijon Mustard, to taste
1 tbsp. Mayonnaise, to taste
1 whole Tomato
1 whole Red Onion, Small
2 slices Mild Cheddar
1 can (4 Oz.) Whole Green Chilies
2 slices Provolone
2 slices Rye Bread
Butter

Steps:

  • First we are going to make the special sauce. Measure 1 tablespoon of Dijon mustard and 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise and mix the together in a small bowl. That's it! That's the special sauce. Mix it together well and then spread a very thin layer onto the inside of both pieces of bread.Now slice a nice ripe tomato. Thinly slice a red onion. Place two slices of tomato on one piece of bread and two slices of mild cheddar on the other slice. On top of the tomatoes place several slices of red onion followed by two sliced of provolone.Open your can of whole green chilies (or if you have roasted your own fresh chilies, those are fabulous as well!) and lay one or two slices on top of the provolone. Now very carefully put the two halves of this glorious sandwich together.Now, are you ready? Spread a ridiculous, fattening and obscene amount of butter on top of the bread. Don't miss a single centimeter. Flip the sandwich over and repeat the Obscene Butter Process on the other side.Meanwhile, heat a skillet (non-stick is preferable here) over LOW heat. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook it for at least 5 minutes. Flip and continue cooking for another couple of minutes, until golden brown. Remove to a cutting board and slice this beautiful little piece of heaven in half and eat. Lawsie mercy, folks. You have no idea how spectacularly delicious this is.

A simple, decadent steak sandwich. Credit goes to a rancher's wife known as Pioneer Woman. :) Based on comments received, I have reduced the amount of worcestershire sauce from 1/2 cup, to 1/4-1/2 cup. I suggest starting with the lower amount and adding more if you like.

1/2 cup butter
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
1/4-1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
5 dashes Tabasco sauce

Steps:

  • Melt 2 TBSP butter over medium heat in large skillet. Slice onions and cook until soft and light brown (7-8 minutes). Remove and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, slice cube steak thinly against the grain. Sprinkle with seasoned salt.
  • After onions have been removed from skillet, melt another 2 TBSP butter over high heat.
  • Add meat in single layer. Cook one side until brown (at least one minute), then flip and cook until brown, another minute.
  • Add 1/2 cup worcestershire sauce, 5 dashes of Tabasco, and 2 more TBSP butter. Add cooked onions. Stir to combine.
  • Using last 2 TBSP butter - butter halved French rolls and brown on skillet or griddle.
  • Put bottom half of French rolls on plates. Put one fourth of meat mixture on each, followed by a spoonful of juice from the pan. Top with other half of roll, cut in half, and enjoy!

This is an easy, fast and super yummy weeknight meal. Pioneer Woman is right....this is a big time man-pleasing recipe! Everyone in my house loves this. Adjust ingredients depending how many sandwiches you are making.

Number Of Ingredients 6

5 chicken breasts, pounded thin, 1 per person
15 -20 slices bacon, pieces sliced in half, probably 3-4 slices per person
5 hamburger buns or 5 bread, of your choice
lemon pepper seasoning
Lawry's Seasoned Salt
sliced cheese, your choice

Steps:

  • Cook cut in half bacon strips as crispy (or not crispy) as you like them. Remove bacon and drain on paper towels. Pour off all grease, except for about a tablespoon.
  • Sprinkle both sides of chicken breasts with lemon pepper and Lawry's - don't skimp.
  • Add chicken breasts to pan and cook until just about done.
  • While second side of breast is finishing cooking, lay desired amount of bacon strips across the breast, add sliced cheese over bacon. Cover with a lid and allow cheese to melt.
  • Serve chicken on roll/bun, whatever bread you want. Toasted, untoasted, it will be yummy either way, trust me.
