Cereal and peanuts add the crunch to these sweet and peanut-buttery treats you can whip up in no time. One batch makes plenty for snacking and sharing. At Christmas, my sister and I add them to trays of homemade candies we give to the customers of the house-cleaning service we run. We're often asked for the recipe.

2 pounds white candy coating, coarsely chopped
1 cup peanut butter
3 cups crisp rice cereal
2 cups dry roasted peanuts
2 cups miniature marshmallows

Steps:

  • In a microwave, heat candy coating at 70% power for 1 minute; stir. Microwave at additional 10- to 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper. Let stand until set.

I just recently tried this recipe, and everyone in the family loved it! They call it Reese's® Peanut Butter Bark! It's very good!

16 ounces white chocolate chips
1 ½ cups peanut butter
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Grease a baking sheet and line with parchment paper.
  • Mix white chocolate chips and peanut butter together in a microwave-safe bowl; heat in microwave until half-melted, 30 seconds to 1 minutes. Stir.
  • Place semi-sweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl; heat in microwave until half-melted, 15 to 30 seconds. Stir vanilla extract into half-melted semi-sweet chocolate.
  • Spread peanut butter mixture onto the prepared baking sheet. Evenly distribute melted semi-sweet chocolate over peanut butter mixture. Using the tip of a sharp knife, drag semi-sweet chocolate through peanut butter mixture making a marble-pattern.
  • Refrigerate until set, 30 minutes to 2 hours. Cut into pieces and store in an air-tight container.

12 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
4 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Steps:

  • Coat a 9-by-12 1/2-inch rimmed baking sheet with cooking spray, and line with parchment, leaving an overhang on ends. Melt bittersweet chocolate in a double boiler or a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water, stirring. Pour into baking sheet, and spread in an even layer.
  • Melt milk chocolate with peanut butter in a double boiler or a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water, stirring. Drizzle chocolate-peanut butter mixture over bittersweet chocolate, and swirl with a skewer. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Break into pieces.

  • Line baking sheet with waxed paper. In medium microwavable bowl, microwave semisweet chocolate on HIGH 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds, until melted. In another medium microwavable bowl, microwave white baking and peanut butter on HIGH 1 minute, stirring after 30 seconds, until melted. Pour chocolate onto prepared baking sheet spreading with spatula to create a smooth layer. Drizzle peanut butter mixture over chocolate layer. With knife, cut through both mixtures to swirl for marbled design. Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Break into pieces.

This is my own creation, a modification of a mini-pretzel and peanut butter sandwich dipped in chocolate, created by my daughter. I hope you enjoy! This makes a great gift in holiday bags for Christmas and Easter.

½ (12 ounce) package dark chocolate candy wafers, divided

Steps:

  • Combine 1/4 of the milk chocolate wafers and 1/4 of the dark chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl. Melt chocolate in a microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each melting, until chocolate is completely melted and creamy, 1 to 3 minutes.
  • Crumble enough pretzels into melted chocolate until mixture is lumpy but not thick. Spread chocolate mixture into the bottom of a baking dish. Refrigerate or freeze until firm, 10 to 15 minutes.

  • Line an 11x15-inch (28x38-cm) baking sheet with parchment paper. In separate bowls, using a microwave or a double boiler, melt bittersweet and white chocolate over low heat. Whisk peanut butter into warm white chocolate, then spread over parchment into a rectangle measuring about 10x13 inches (25x33 cm). It doesn't need to be perfect as bark will be broken. Drop bittersweet chocolate by large spoonfuls over the just-spread white chocolate mixture. Swirl gently using the tip of a knife.
