1 cup Unsalted Butter ((softened))
1 cup Brown Sugar
1 cup Sugar ((plus 2 Tablespoons for top of cookies))
1 cup Peanut Butter ((creamy or crunchy))
2 large Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla
2 1/2 cups Flour
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
3/4 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt ((optional if using salted butter))
1 cup Roasted Salted Peanuts ((ground or finely chopped to resemble breadcrumbs))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and sugar for 4 minutes, until light and fluffy, scraping the sides of the bowl often.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and beat for 1 minute longer. Fold in peanut butter.
  • Stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Fold in finely ground or chopped roasted salted peanuts.
  • Chill dough for at least 1 hour or overnight is ideal. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Roll dough into 2-inch balls. Place remaining sugar into a small bowl. Roll cookie dough balls into sugar to coat. Place on cookie sheet and press each ball twice with a dinner form to form a crisscross design.
  • Bake for 10-13 minutes or until the edges become a light golden color. Do not overbake as these are supposed to be soft and chewy. Let the cookies rest for at least 5 minutes before moving to a cooling rack.

2 ½ cups whole wheat flour (see note below for substitutions)
1 egg
1 cup peanut butter (SEE NOTE)
1 cup water
2 tablespoons honey
⅓ cup cornstarch (can also use potato starch or arrowroot powder)
2 Tablespoons peanut butter
1 Tablespoon honey
3-4 tablespoons hot water

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350F.
  • In a large bowl combine flour and the egg. Add peanut butter, water, honey and stir until you have stiff dough. the dough becomes very firm and sticky. you may need to use your hands, or the paddle attachment on your mixer.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough about 1/2 inch thick and use a cookie cutter to make fun shapes. the treats barely spread and rise, so get creative with your shapes.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden. Once done, set aside to cool. (If you have smaller cookies, use less time, otherwise the bottom might burn.)
  • To make frosting, combine the peanut butter and honey in a microwavable bowl, and heat in the microwave in 15 second increments, stirring in between, until melted.
  • Add melted peanut butter mixture to cornstarch and stir until just combined.
  • Slowly add in water 1 Tablespoon at a time until you have reached the consistency that you would like. For a thinner frosting, add more water.
  • Add frosting to a piping bag and pipe designs on top of each dog treat.
  • Frost treats with the peanut butter/honey mixture for an even more tempting cookie.
  • Store in an airtight container or give as gifts!

  • Combine the butter, milk, white sugar, brown sugar, and honey in a large pot over medium-high heat; bring to a rapid boil for 90 seconds. Stir the salt and peanut butter into the mixture and remove immediately from the heat. Add the oatmeal quickly and mix to combine. Make sure the texture is thick with a little bit of sauce, but not too much sauce. If needed add extra oatmeal.

1½ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup granulated sugar
¾ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup creamy peanut butter
½ cup honey
¼ cup vegetable shortening
1 egg (lightly beaten)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ cup granulated sugar (in a small bowl, for rolling cookies)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt; set aside.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream together the peanut butter, honey and shortening on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined. Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Give the mixture a final stir with a rubber spatula to ensure all of the flour has been incorporated.
  • Use a medium cookie scoop (about 2 tablespoons of dough) to scoop out dough and roll into a ball between the palms of your hands. Roll in the sugar and place on the prepared baking sheets about two inches apart. Using fork tines, press a criss-cross pattern into the tops of the cookies, flattening them into disks.
  • Bake until lightly golden brown, about 10 to 12 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then use a spatula to remove them to a wire rack to cool completely. The cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

2 large eggs, room temperature, lightly beaten

1 cup butter (softened)
1 cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 ½ cups flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
2 cups honey-roasted peanuts (coarsely chopped)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Beat butter with sugars for about 2- 3 minutes. Add peanut butter and mix 1-2 more minutes. Mix in eggs and vanilla and beat for another 2-3 minutes. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until well combined. Stir in half of the peanuts.
  • Use a cookie scoop to scoop out cookies onto parchment or silicone-mat lined cookie sheets. Lightly press the rest of the nuts on top of the cookies.
  • Bake for about 14 minutes. The very edges should be a light golden brown, but cookies should still be really soft in the middles. They may look slightly underdone but that's ok!

1/2 cup honey
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups graham wafer crumbs
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
21 peanuts (optional)

Steps:

  • Cream shortening with sugar.
  • Beat in peanut butter, honey, egg and vanilla.
  • Combine dry ingredients and blend into peanut butter mixture.
  • Drop by teaspoon onto lightly greased baking sheet, flatten with floured fork.
  • Top each with peanut halve if desired.
  • Bake at 375° for 7-9 minutes.
  • I baked mine for 11 minutes.
