QUEIJADAS DE FEIJAO (PORTUGUESE BEAN TARTS)



Queijadas de Feijao (Portuguese Bean Tarts) image

Posted in reply to a request. I found this in a reply to someone else's request on another board. The recipe was not very detailed, sorry. I beleive that the filling is to be baked in little puff pastry shells. Times amd yield are a guess.

Number Of Ingredients 5

12 eggs, separated
2 cans beans, drained and mashed
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons margarine
water

Steps:

  • Combine the water and sugar to make a caramel.
  • Add the margarine and beans, cook for a few moments.
  • Let cool completely and add the 12 yolks.
  • Beat 2 egg whites and add to the mix.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  • When cool, dust with confectioner's sugar.

  • Prepare a massa: disponha a farinha sobre a bancada, abra uma cavidade no centro, junte o sal, o creme vegetal e a água, misture bem e trabalhe a massa até ficar macia. Coloque num saco de plástico e guarde-a no frio.
  • Prepare o recheio: deite o açúcar num tacho, adicione 1 dl de água e deixe ferver durante 10 minutos. Acrescente o puré de feijão e o miolo de amêndoa, desligue o lume e retire a mistura para uma taça. Junte os ovos batidos e as gemas, mexa bem e deixe arrefecer.
  • Estenda a massa com o rolo sobre a mesa polvilhada com farinha. Corte círculos de massa, forre pequenas formas com a massa, encha-as com o preparado do feijão, polvilhe com açúcar em pó e leve ao forno pré-aquecido a 180º c durante 20 minutos. Retire, deixe arrefecer um pouco e sirva frios.
