Vegetable oil cooking spray
Bittersweet, milk, or white chocolate, chopped, according to variation
Toppings, according to variation

Steps:

Coat a 9-by-12 1/2-inch rimmed baking sheet withcooking spray, and line with parchment, leaving anoverhang on ends.
Melt chocolate in a double boileror a heatproof bowl setover a pan of simmering water,stirring. Pour into baking sheet,and spread in an even layer.
Immediately sprinkle toppingsover chocolate. Refrigerateuntil firm, about 1 hour.Peel off parchment, and breakbark into pieces.

Caution! Party bark is addictive. You can change the recipe up in many ways, but it's basically party mix covered in white chocolate bark. Makes a great gift.

1 (14 ounce) package candy-coated chocolate-covered peanut candies (such as M&M's®)
1 (8 ounce) package pretzel twists
6 cups toasted oat cereal (such as Cheerios®)
6 cups crispy corn cereal squares (such as Corn Chex®)
1 (14 ounce) bag vanilla chocolate almond bark, broken into pieces
¼ cup multicolored candy sprinkles, or as needed

Steps:

Combine chocolate-covered peanut candies, pretzel twists, oat cereal, and corn cereal in a large pot or bowl to make the party mixture.
Melt almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring after each melting, 1 to 3 minutes total. Pour over the party mixture and stir well. Spread onto waxed paper. Sprinkle with sprinkles and cool, at least 10 minutes.

Place the semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high until most of the chips are melted, about 2 minutes. Alternatively you can put the chips in a heatproof bowl over a pan of barely simmering water (making sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water) and melt the chocolate. Stir until all the chips are melted and the chocolate is smooth and glossy. Add 1 cup of the pistachios to the chocolate and stir to combine. Pour onto the paper and spread into an even layer with a spatula about an eighth or a quarter inch thick.
Put the white chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high until they start to melt, about 1½ minutes. Alternatively you can put the chips in a heatproof bowl over a pan of barely simmering water (making sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water) and melt the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of the white chocolate here and there with a spoon onto the semisweet chocolate. With a knife or back of a spoon swirl the white chocolate into the semisweet. Sprinkle the rest of the pistachios and the cranberries over the top. Let cool. Place in the refrigerator until hard, about 30 minutes. Cut or break into irregular sized and shaped pieces.
